Crossfire Downloader not working

I've searched the forums for this problem, and google'd it as well. But I couldn't get a solution for this problem.
Basically when I double click on the downloader, a message that says "A connection with the server could not be established, please restart the downloader". And of course the same message pops up when I try to restart the downloader. I've shut off my anti virus program, and it still doesn't work.
