(TEMP SOLUTION) How to avoid your PC from Freezing(Client mfc error)
To avoid your Computers from getting hang/freeze when "Client mfc application" error appears.
Try to follow this temporary solution.
When "Client mfc application" error pops-up(Usually after each game it'll appear).

DON'T press the "Close" Button.
Instead open your "Windows Task Manager" (CTRL+ALT+DEL)

Select/Highlight Crossfire then hit "End task"
When your Crossfire client successfully closes. That's the time you'll click the "close" button on the "Client mfc application" error window.
In this way it'll prevent your Computer to hang/freeze when you encounter this error.
If you have any other ways please post it here also. Thank you!

I tried this but it doesn't work.... CTRL-ALT-DELETE won't even work. I HAVE to shutdown my computer completely and reboot. But seriously: is there still no fix for this very anoying problem??? It has been weeks since it started and STILL no fix????? What the H311 are we paying you people for??
(Running on XP and AVG. And YES I have added CF to the exclusion list, aswell as Xtrapp.... No improvement) -
Yeah, I never press the close button. I only started getting this MFC error when they added that new stakeout shotgun, been plagued with this problem since. When the MFC error window pops up, I can still move around and play but it's in the middle of my screen hindering my view and if I click the mouse (to shoot players), my screen would freeze and end up getting booted out of the room for idle time. I had to configure the shoot key to the Space Bar key and to scope I just press F so I won't ever have to click the mouse. When the game ends, I can just drag that window to the very corner so it won't block my view. I just let that window stay there in the corner and resume playing without closing Crossfire, I don't think that same error and window will pop up twice.
