Crossfire log-in screen error

When I open crossfire it takes me to the log-in screen and when I either click or type anything into the username or password box, the crossfire application freezes or crashes. I can not type a letter or number into the box, it just freezes, I have waited and it is still crashed. I have also tried running Crossfire as administrator. Thanks for looking

I had the same error.
Freeze at login screen.
I uninstalled ATI catalyst 12.8 and get back to older version(installed only display driver not catalyst).
Problem solved for now.
System W7 64bit ati 6850CF.

However, current ati 12.8 driver works under winXP 32 without any problems.

What do you mean you uninstalled ATI Catalyst?
Do you mean Catalyst Control Center because that is what I have
If that is what you ment, what do I uninstall? Display driver or the whole thing?

Uninstall Catalyst Control Center.
It will work after reboot.
