can u buy anything for better gameplay?

can u buy anything that makes ur gameplay be better like less lag and stuff like that.... is it a graphic card u buy? cuz i think a graphic card is for better graphics... but anything to make me have less lag i hear everybody getting like 100-500 fps while i only get 30-60....
