Game Guard, Its Bad. Agree??

Ok GameGuard (nProtect).
I really cant remember when the last time that updated and it still doesnt get rid of the hackers. -.-. Maybe try getting a new Hacker Prevention Programme because there is a lot of cheaper and better software to protect the game. Im not saying GameGuard is bad, just saying its not good for this game! XD
Post your comments about GameGuard below and if you think it should be removed and a different programme should be use.

Well I thought for sure from your title that it was.
The problem isn't GameGuard's original intention and trust me. It's less problematic than PunkBuster. -
Trust me...all antihack programs for free to play games have the same issues. In the beginning War Rock used Punkbuster....it was soundly defeated by the hacking community. Then they switched to Hackshield Pro. It worked at first...too well. Legitimate players (including myself) were banned. When they tweaked it to not ban innocent people the hackers came back in numbers equal if not greater than when using Punkbuster.

I know that we're not supposed to discuss other online games but, i thought there was only less hackers in warrock when they used hackshield because the hackers didn't expect a change in anti-hack.[MOD]Greycloak wrote: »Trust me...all antihack programs for free to play games have the same issues. On topic
game-guard can do the same amount of work against hackers that PB can do, antihacking software will always be bypassed by hackers, do really there's no point in changing -

Well if thats the case why not have GM's to play the game as normal and if theres any "hackers" They can ban them there and then to cut down the amount of hackers. I also read that you dont IP ban anymore as too many "non-hacking players" were getting banned. You could add a timed IP Ban to stop them from making a new acount within 30 days of being banned so the hackers has to wait to get back into the game, Therefore cutting down the hackers again. -
I have no idea where you get your information, but there was never any sort of official statement that said whether or not the company IP banned. Regardless, IP bans are one of the easiest things to get around. Also, the GMs do play the game...you'll just never know it since they do not play on their GM accounts.
Basically using that method is a losing war though. Only so many people per day can be banned via observation. As soon as they get banned they create another account.
However, in addition to Gameguard the developers are coming up with new ways to combat hackers as well. Invisible hackers have completely disappeared, and speedhackers are almost nonexistant. As their processes are refined I'm sure we'll see an overall reduction in hacks. -

A CM told me about the IP Bans.
Quote from a closed thread : [CM]FallenAngel: "IP banning is not a useful tool. We've utilized it and find that the number of ways to falsify or circumvent IPs makes this sort of banning inefficient, ineffective, and prone to catching innocent victims."
Anyway as i was brain storming i thought of Legal Action against forums that supply Illegal Programmes for your games.
I know we are not to advertise but Nexon did it to another popular hacking forum site that hacks this game. Dont know what the result was, but its another idea <
and it would also send the message that z8games is cracking down on the hackers... HARD! -
You cannot take legal action against people who are removing a resitricted feature of a game. You can only take legal action if they are in the UK, or the United States if the party is purposefully molesting the games copyrighted material for the purpose or intent to sell and distribute (not just distribute) without a proper business license and invalid copyright claims.
Now, that being said....
Most hackers are not really hackers. And its more like someone says it every 30 seconds in Crossfire. It's called ZP players getting in a bunch about GP weapons killing them. The SHIFT hack (also known as aimbot) has been completely disabled. But just like in Counter Strike, if you hold shift to narrow the crosshairs - someone will claim you shift hack and vote kick you.
Most hacks have been so completely disabled, just attempting to inject them will crash your game. I have hundreds of sites that catalogue the specific Crossfire hacks and Combat Arms hacks. I have PM'd Crossfire's support about them. I received the response
"Crossfire is a game. With all games there will be players that attempt to circumvent our programming. The websites you have listed are forums dedicated to the controversial and unfair practice of hacking. If you visit these websites and utilize their software in our game, you will be banned and your accounts closed. We do appreciate you listing them for us, though it is doubtful anything will be done about most of them because it would consume more resources than we currently are able to afford. We hope your continued support and trust in z8games will allow you to enjoy our products without allowing these minor things to interrupt your service. We are handling everything we can and will provide as much support as we can for all the areas we're able to at this time. Thank you for your support, your efforts, and for your patience."
And other responses just like that every time I sent in new lists. You would think that a list of 30-40 sites would interest support but I actually DON'T THINK they're the ones who update the game. I think they are more like customer service because even though I sent those sites plenty of times and added new websites to the list - they didn't seem to really be bothered by it. Almost like they've seen a thousand emails before with the same websites and the same hacks. I think z8 has a specific group of employees outside the support team who alter the code and the files to remove exploits. But I don't think these employees even exist on this website. And I think the z8 website is ran by contract employees who perform web service or otherwise "dirty jobs," with customer support instead of patching and updating the actual client.
Just my two cents. -
a Solution?
some hacks are obvious: speed hack, wall hack, knife throwing in a kinfe battle, etc.
but the one i hate is antikick - how to deal with hackers? why not set up an easy to use reporting system three reports and their banned (or checked out - ive been kicked b4 4 havin 4/8 kill/deth - noobs). -
-
Well i get the feeling that hack in the game will never exist totally.
I admit that speedhackers etc etc are long go from Crossfire.
However, spread ur hands and u will have a dousin aimbot-users in ur hug.
I dont believe that hacking could easily be avoided, so the easier thing
is to make the life difficult for the hackers instead of trying to face them.
Better no forget that many players in the game, sometimes "Accept"
a hacker in their game cause he plays with their team. That is worse
than GameGuard tries etc etc. It's all about the point of view.
IP, name, or other ban methods will not help. Moderating the games closely from
GMs will not help. Players could create other account easily. The problem
will be solved if the system recognize hack/illegal program. And thats the only way.
And finally YES, i would like see more work from GameGuard or w/e,
banning all the hackers, not only speedhackers etc. But i'm optimistic about it.
Have fun. -
All this talk about making otehr accounts , well here is some math / logic
You have to make a new Email account 5 -30 min(or get disposable which Gm's should really block 3min)
You then have to sign up 5 mins --30 mins (name already registered / email)
You then need to confirm 30 -50 sec
You then need to restart crossfire , select a forum name , which then if that name is already taken can vary greatly in time.
Basicly what i am trying to say is , everybody report hackers , after 10 account being banned they may become boarded and stop.
