I've actually tested the patterns, and they are both quite random.
Fired dozens of shots with both and have had no repeats in the pellet spread pattern.
Some shots are bottom heavy with both some are split to the sides, some top heavy, and some just spread everywhere. They all stay with in a certain radius from the center but other then that they are quite random in how they spread.
