Can't load into crossfire

Same happens to me. Xtrap and all that starts up, I can see the crossfire.exe in task manager, Windows Aero is changed to Basic(which is normal), but the crossfire window doesn't pop up. After about 10 secs everything closes and returns back to Aero. Reinstalled several times, no dice.
p.s. No i do not have xfire running, or anything else that might affect it.
edit: When it closes, there is no error message or anything, it just goes poof.
edit2: After checking Event Viewer, it is indeed the MFC error everyone is posting. My OS is Win7 x64. -

Things I've tried so far:
DEP exception
Delete HGW/XTrap folders
Redownload/reinstall several times (with deletion of leftover folders from uninstall)
Updated graphics drivers to beta versions (560 ti SLI shouldn't even be a problem anyway)
Run crossfire on fresh boot up
End all unnecessary processes and then run crossfire
Disable SLI
Run as administrator on/off
Run with/without win7 compatibility
Play Counter Strike: Source and then come back to see if crossfire works
Play Heroes of Newerth and then come back to see if crossfire works
Play Battlefield 3...
Play Every other game I have...
Do some PT...
Get frustrated and blame Crossfire
Things I will not do:
Reformat
Throw computer out the window (which happens to be 2-3 feet to my left while on 2nd floor)
Things I've noticed:
The time it takes to close out varies from instantly after xtrap loads and crossfire.exe appears in task manager to about 10 secs after
crossfire.exe appears in the processes tab but not the applications tab (of task manager) -
+1
Since yesterday, i get the message "Client MFC Application has stoped working".
Tried reinstaling, no dice...

Fixed it, I had the exact same problem.
It worked for me, so here is my suggestion to you:
Uninstall CF from Control Panel.
Delete the Z8games folder from Program Files.
Uninstall your Anti-Virus and Restart your computer.
Then Re-install Crossfire and it should work.
Here is a link to a new Anti-Virus if you have no other:
http://download.cnet.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-Free-Edition-2012/3000-2239_4-10320142.html?part=dl-avg_free_ca&subj=dl&tag=button
I realized that when you did all that your Anti-Virus secretly terminated one of the files from xtrap making it unable to work properly.
Hope this helped

Hmm...checked my COMODO logs and nothing of the sort comes up, but worth a try at this point. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware logs shows up clean also. Anyways, I'll redownload CrossFire and try this.
edit: Did not work for me. Odd how just over 1 night it goes from working perfectly fine to not working at all. Before the servers went down for patching too. Problem first appeared around 11:20 am EST on August 1. The patch was 11 pm if I'm not mistaken. -
Yep same problem.
Client MFC Application has stopped working.

Seriously uninstalling your AV worked for you? That seems extreme.
I have AVG myself and I would have problems before (1 year ago) but I would add it 2 the exceptions and that would be it.
And I tried just 2 disable AVG (the AV)+ other things as well... and it didn't work.
Did any1 else try this...I would like to know...idk, if it works for more ppl I guess it's worth a shot. -
+1 ty so much it worked

I had the same problem and I solved it today.
Here is how I solved the problem (i don't know which step helped the game work
)
1. Uninstalled the antivirus.
2. Run > msconfig > Startup > Services > chech "Hide All Microsoft Services" > unchecked everything
3. Run > msconfig > Startup > unchecked everything
After this I started crossfire (no restart or anything) and now it works.
Now i have to get a new antivirus and see if that makes any problems ... -
Well, since everyone is saying that uninstalling their AV helped them, I decided to mess around with mine and I think I found a solution. Worked for me so try it out.
If you're using Comodo, go to the Firewall tab and click Define a New Trusted Application. Click Select, Then Browse, and find XTrapVa.dll and double-click it. Hit Apply and you should be good to go.
