Explaining why "hackers" dont get banned
I asked myself,I am sure you all have, why don't people that obviously hack get banned.
Well I've figured it out.
I basically took a low quality laptop and a high quality laptop and played crossfire on both.
laptop1

Samsung R519 15.6-inch Notebook (Intel Celeron Dual Core Processor T3100 1.9 GHz, 2GB RAM, 250GB HDD, Windows 7 Home Premium, Black)
laptop2:

If you want a full view of the specs you can google them.
You would think what does having different laptops to do with crossfire. I'll get to that soon.
Laptop1(crappy system):
As a laptop that isn't made for gaming,it overheats itself to be able to run cf.
I noticed that my ping was 35 most of the time but would often peak to 200.
Mid-gaming I would often get stuck because the laptop had a hard time processing it all.
Also launching cf itself takes a long time, you will experience a lot of "data transmission" complications simply because the laptop can't handle the size of cf.
The transition between cf and other programs doesn't simply go well.
If you click to change a song on youtube for example you will have to wait a few minutes 3-4 for the laptop to focus on cf again.
laptop2(high end system):
Everything goes crisp,my ping in game was a constant 13 with youtube and browsers open, during transitions or not. Sometimes my ping would even reach 12. No problems running cf whatsoever. Aiming goes smoothly, even when my first three shots miss i could continuously keep spraying and still hit.
Now here comes the weird part.
It matters whether you have a good pc/laptop because someone with good ping experiences the game a lot different than you do. That is simply because the quality differs. Also with experiencing I don't mean the process going faster. The difference is huge,The guns shoot different compared to each other. You can kill easier, react faster, notice quicker and clearly see when someone is hacking or not.
As for the hacking part, Sometimes we experience things in-game that can't be explained. So far I have discovered that the difference in ping and internet connection and computers causes players to look like they are hacking or lagging. This also counts for people not getting bullet damage or grenade damage.
Situation 1:
If I have a sucky pc and you have a good one and we try to shoot at each other you will win because you can aim and kill quicker. For me it will be harder to aim and kill because the process takes longer than yours. Which will make it seem as if you are hacking.(happens most of the time)
situation 2:
I have the low quality pc again and I play with someone with a high end pc but this time I have a bad internet connection. On your screen I will jump fly etc. on my screen the same will happen but I can still shoot. If I am lucky I can kill you and the lag could be in my benefit but in my opinion it is barely enjoyable. Same goes for the usage of knives,it might seem as if I use a long knife hack but it's just the lag that is giving me benefits.(rarely happens)
Experience:
The guns are different for people with good systems and good internet connection. If you have a low quality setup the guns will easily seem to have high recoil because your system can't handle it which makes it insanely attractive to start spraying but will still result in missing your target. Long story short cf is not working as it should with a low quality system. We really underestimate the importance of experience.
Conclusion:
We will always have this problem, the exact problem is that there is no equality whatsoever.
People with better systems will simply overthrow anyone that doesn't have system as good as theirs. The other way around low quality systems users annoy high end systems users with the lag and such. Because everyone is able to play this game(high end and/or low quality system) we will always experience this . That's the only bad side of pc games, consoles have one system which makes it a lot more even for the players(they still have problems with internet connections though).People tend to forget what really matters.
I think It is safe to say there are plenty of things to work on.(not directed towards crossfire)

having a better computer dosnt give a HUGE advantage cause i was using a vary old computer and i was playing just fine and i can still beat many players 1v1 with their new computer, also most players have enough common sense to know the difference between lag and hack, only some noobs call other players hack just by looking at their score and have no proof what so ever"mainy ppl with 150-200+ ing just saying..."
so yea, this thread should help the BR's if they can even understand this all -

It will not help anyone getting out of bans because crossfire makes the final decision whether someone is to be banned or not,so your argument is invalid. -
There is a big difference between obvious hackers and highpingers. On a crappy slow system, the low FPS causes ya die alot...so I don't totally agree with the OP.
This week I did a test and normally I get 80-100 ping on most servers using a cable modem. As a test, I unplugged the cable modem and connected my PC to my smart phone (Verizon 3G), launched PDAnet and then launched Crossfire. I averaged a 200-250 ping. I could barely maintain a 1.0 KDR in TDM. It worked, but got to experience what people with a crappy internet connection experienced. Lots of Kill and Popcorn latency. -

some people can't afford i5,i7 or the latest graphic cards, but still play cf. if your pc can't handle games like mw3 ,cf ,bf3 etc causes you to lag and seem as if you are hacking to other players. eventually you won't get banned but reporters blame cf for not banning them .
I don't see why you don't understand,it's kind of obvious. Maybe I wasn't quite clear about it in my essential post,if that's the case then I apologize. -
I think a lot of you are missing the point entirely.
The point is this;
Those with lower end computers, hardware and bad internet connections see things differently from us in game.
For example someone running at 20fps with bad net is gonna be dead before he probably even sees you, hence you "rack" and then he reports.
However as the topic title states this "Explains why "hackers" dont get banned". -

This goes back to people crying hack when they get beat and simply because they are unable to determine if they are hacking or not.
The hack team are not stupid. They can tell if you are cheating or not. If you arent cheating then you will never get banned.
Also I forgot I made that guide -
I've explained in detail many times about how greatly ping affects a players performance.
Those with high ping are much more likely to think people are hacking because their ping doesn't allow them to see the whole picture like those with low ping. I also increases the chances the player will resort to hacking because it appears everyone already is.
To explain why most actual hackers don't get banned from reports, it simple.
By the time the staff reaches the report, X-trap usually already got a temp ban on them.
Staff sees the player is already banned and move on to the next one, allowing the temp banned player to return later and play again. -

You are referring to the actual hackers, I am talking about the players thinking people hack but don't realize that ping and internet connection are the reason for that assumption. -
it's true, Xtrap is doing its job. People just dont notice it because it gives hackers "second chances". As the hacker continues to get caught it results in a higher penalty, locking the account from 7 days to permanent ban. Though they can just make a new account, it explains why mostly low levels are usually hacking, but there are also alts that some experience players play on, which can be easily mistaken.

One of the most misleading topics I have seen.
1. Is ping determined by the cpu, gpu or your internet service? As talking about the ping, wired connect and wireless connection makes the difference; cable user normally would suffer from traffic in peak time; wireless user would be frustrated by the neighors' signal, and distance to the router. Also, you router loads makes difference, if in your family are watch online video, or BT, you can get mad. The wireless g and n makes no much difference in this game.
2. Compared to the cpu/gpu performance for this game, I only find the game can no longer suit the Core2 duo in recent 2 years, but someone have fix for it. The cpu performance for that game is tiny compared to the connection.
3. One of the secrets, mouse and mousepad makes big difference.
4. There are lots of topic about setting the mouse, you need to disable the mouse acceleration in the game. There are lots of topic about it.
HD spec only matters when you computer is really shabby, like you first laptop. But there are almost no others would play the game without video card. -
I think it's not the laptop's fault but the fault of crossfire.
Crossfire is just a bad programmed game. it takes to much space for being so bad. I am pretty sure that you can play call of duty on the first laptop, counter strike source should work on that one too.
Crossfire is actually a really simple game, it has like no graphic effects at all and also no physics. The blood get's removed after a few minutes and you can play with only 16 players at the same time. The animations are bad and so on.
Crossfire is weird game with nearly nothing but it f*cks up even the best computers. My computer crashed 3 or 4 times while I played crossfire. When I play crossfire I can't use my media keys because cf blocks it, I can't even turn up or down my sound. I have to use my amplifier to do that. Also it takes forever to lead a map or to minimize crossfire and start it again.
Just saying, it's not your computers fault.
But beside that, yes there are situation in which weird things happen like you get killed after you are behind the wall, which is caused by lag. Or you shot someone and he doesn't get's any damage, which is the fault of the game.
But this doesn't goes for all the situations. When I walk through the map and get knifed by someone that is 60 meters away I know that he hacked. I reported someone like that and he is still not banned. -

This one is smaller and it will not re size the whole thread, also it has all the information.
fixed it,thanks for resizing the picture btw.
I hope it is clear that the results of this research don't count as common reason for lagging and such. I just found it out and discovered this could clear some of the air since it's hugely underestimated.
