Hello, I have been having this issue for about two months now. Z8 told me to post here, so.. I'm posting...
Game works fine until trying to join a game. It basically freezes after I click on Join Game.
The Please wait screen pops up, and never loads.
I am very Computer Saavy, and can't seem to find an issue.
I have Re-installed CF about 5-6 different times still with the same error. The error started before the July Patch and is still continuing.
Any help/ideas would be appreciated.

just uninstall the game from add and remove in control panel , then for get about this Epic money grabbing fools from america cause they all want happy meals ,

This actually happened 01.08.2012 after some x-trap update...
Client MFC Application has stopped working.
Also in the description it says
Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: crossfire.exe
Fault Module Name: XTrapVa.dll
some other things aswell but this is the basic thing...
I did try just about everything...clean install following instructions from gm, deleting the xtrap folder,replacing the xtrap files with a m8s files...I added the exceptions in AV and any spyware... -

This problem has been annoying me for 2 days. I can't talk to anyone and it usually gets frozen joining the channel (ch01 US west) . I cant type to anyone and they can see what i say but i can't see what they say. I have reinstalled, updated graphic drivers, reset modem, i am all out of ideas and need a solution 0.0 -
Guys 4 me it's working now.
It's comodo firewall, I uninstalled it (rebooted my pc) and crossfire works once again.
(or maybe 4 u it's some other firewall software or AV check it out if you don't have comodo)

Also Uninstalled it then i tried re-installing it but it had some problem.Later den i found it,it was my firewall so i put firewall down temporarily and then i pressed the download thing den the download thing appeared on lower screen so i pressed some button thing on it and some stuff showed near it and i pressed "Open" then something on middle of screen opened and it said "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?"

so i pressed "Yes" and then it closes and nothing happens after that i tried a billion times! and same thing NOTHING.HAS. HAPPENED.
