crossfire wont start

its opens up the first screen, than i goto click start game and it closes, than 2 minutes later its says "failed to download versio.ini" please help me i really want to play again.

i had this problem. to fix it, go get a hammer or a really hard swinging object and aim towards the cf icon. swing as fast as you can, works every time
