Meh, usually the opening ceremony has to do with their nations culture. All I've seen is a bunch of music and literature. I know that the UK is known for both of those, but it's not put together in a way that I could truly appreciate it.nachoooooooh wrote: »i understand ya, i suppose people from the uk relate to whats going on a lot more
it was all about our heritage and origins. Most of the world would not have understood it, but as a Brit, it was very accurate and awesome... -

I know that, but they literally through in everything that had to do with Brits that it was somewhat of a clusterfudge, imo.[MOD]NattNatt wrote: »it was all about our heritage and origins. Most of the world would not have understood it, but as a Brit, it was very accurate and awesome...
And I missed a bit of the part of the mom and the little girl got out of the mini cooper and walked to some place... Can somebody explain this part to me

it was a boy.
but thing that sums it up best for me:
"Having watched the opening ceremony, I must say...
I've seen better Bond girls." -
The USA's uniform was made in China... and their ties looks like french flags.
But it still cost 700$ a piece, because it was designed by Ralf Lauren.ManInMotion wrote: »It started at 9PM UK time. I only watched parts of it, it was okay I guess. Opening ceremonies are usually boring.
I told it started at 8pm UK time... ended watching an hour of old former champions and athletes talking about everything and anything...
French commentators said it was a reference to a British series that's been on for a long time, don't remember the name though. And I missed a bit of the part of the mom and the little girl got out of the mini cooper and walked to some place... Can somebody explain this part to me

So predictable from the US... that preppy look by none other than Ralph Lauren. Not hating on Ralph or anything but I expected no less.
I started watching it at 9PM. There might have been other things beforehand I don't know. -
the United States*
Also Phelps didn't qualify for a medal already for swimming... that Ryan guy is really taking that title away from him.
no, he wanted to vote for 2 whole continents.

unlucky Cav
they didnt try when they should have...
but also, everyone expected the team sky guys to do all the catching, when there were breakaway's that were left to do what they wanted...They should have started to attack along with the other breakaways at the descent of box hill...with 50km's to go...

Well today sucked for Team Canada.
Our male gymnast messed up on his final move making him land on his back, one swimmer didn't even qualify, another female swimmer came in last, our basketball team lost to Russia even though they were winning the entire game until the 4th quarter, our rowers was so far behind; I didn't even get to watch them cross the finish line because they cut to commercial, one of our favoured biking athletes came in 63rd.
Our highlights? Our male beach volleyball team beat GB, and our female soccer team beat South Africa.
Go Canada... ._. -

Canada has never and will never do anything substantial in the summer games. -

Not even. It's a fact, I actually agree with tasty. I'm not expecting Canada to grab a boatload of medals during the summer Olympics, never did. However I am disappointed how they are coming in last in events, as any country would.RawrJafrikan wrote: »Hahahahhahaha
dissed from a Canadian.
Also I think it was cute how Tasty probably posted that thinking I'd make a fuss over it. Also Jafrikan, you keep laughing at tasty's predictable posts; you're one of the few people who still get a kick from them. -
