Fair decision from Z8?
First off, I wanna say that I know this is probably gonna get closed but before it does, I kinda wanna see what the community's opinion is on this.
So I haven't been on recently due to summer school and work and yesterday, I finally had a day off so I decide to hop on crossfire but I get a message that my account was banned. Turns out someone hac.ked my account, sold all my gp guns, used all my coupons to buy 40something day mp5-adv, sold my nades, used up my zp etc. All I have left is pretty much my crate guns and 2000 days of red smoke. I contacted z8 and asked if they could do anything but they refused to. Is this fair? I don't get why I'm being punished when I was actually doing something productive with my real life. Oh, and I lost my honorable soldier ribbon.

Got hacked, lost everything, z8 won't do anything about it or restore my account back.

I'm playing on a family computer.. if my brothers download something, am I supposed to regulate everything they do and do a virus scan everytime I go on? -

Thats about it. Accounts are not just hacked at random, otherwise people would target specific accounts to use (Such as the admin or CF mod accounts).
As for downloading something, these are not random viruses that float the web. You would have to go out of your way to download such a crack (Open a bad e-mail, go to a bad website). -

If you know you share the computer and he may download something malicious, that should be a hint to take extra precautions. It's not z8's fault, it's not your brothers fault, it's not our fault. The only one here to blame is yourself.

I'm saying be a better role model by teaching them better values. Obviously someone who uses your computer did something malicious on CF or else the person that "hacked" your account wouldn't have known about crossfire and sold all your gear and got you banned. -

The point of this thread is being completely ignored. I'm just curious as to what you guys would do because I haven't touched my account in days and I get back to have everything gone. Plus I bought zp a few days before I stopped playing. Why would I waste $40 and then download hacks? -

I've already provided you with the three causes of an account being stolen.
You can provide the support team with your e-mail, secret question and answer, and any previous ZP payment receipts as a possible cause of recovery. Otherwise, you will be unable to recover the account. -

I've never even heard of you up until this thread was made so where did you get the idea I thought you hacked? You're sitting here trying to tell us your account was magically used by someone you didnt know who sold all your guns and got you banned, but say you neither gave your info out or downloaded anything malicious. Do you know how illegal it is to hack into a server database? Do you think they would pick YOUR account out of the hundreds that are probably worth more? There's only two possible ways your account was compromised; you gave your info out or you/someone else downloaded malicious software. -

I think it's apparent that his 'brother' downloaded something malicious on the 'family' computer. Take this out of context as you may. -

Then you have my suggestion to submit to the support team. But again, it's not likely to get the account back. If you have all the information, then the support team can attempt to look into it. But as per the terms of services, you are liable for your account.
As for having a secure account, I've done work investigating the most common websites for tool downloads when I was a moderator (They do actually try to stay ahead of the game
, and I never post the e-mail address my crossfire account is associated with. I've yet to have anything infect my machine from the web. This goes for the most prolific accounts as well, which I would target instead of random accounts if I had the ability to do so. -

I'm not saying that they hacked into a server database. The reason I came to the forums asking for help was because I was looking for help because I don't know what to do. If something like this SOMEHOW happened to you (against all odds), would you not come to the forums if the support wouldn't help you? -

Happened to me before, all my guns (about 30) were sold, and support wouldn't do anything about it. Do you see me making threads on the forum about it?
Well we're not the same people now are we? Oh and I'm curious as to how you had this happen to you?
