In the end, Frecklez has contributed to the growth of this forum and community, she is a regular in the game and knowledgeable in all things CF! Hopefully she'll be able to encourage some proper well-thought posts and then have the authority to help shut down some of the unnecessary drama and trolling that goes on around here!
No denying the the contributions Freckles made to CF.
But if you want to stop trolls, being blunt only leads to them getting what they want.
Trolls either want to anger people for amusement or win a argument by making everyone else give up.
Remaining calm, rational, polite, and persistent is the best way to handle trolls.
Sadly very few people can do this. -

Sadly very few people can do this.Even remaining calm, rational, polite, and persistent doesn't help with trolls. They'll see it as a challenge to break you from that routine. The best way to deal with trolls is to ignore them and let a [MOD] deal with them through proper channels. -

They have yet to break me.
Also this increases the chances that a Mod can apply their powers to them.
Smart trolls know how to technically follow all the rules and still troll, getting the targets in trouble but remain clean.
By doing this, trolls are more likely to make mistakes that the mods are allowed to punish, thus removal of the troll. (Yes, I know I'm Evil. But no one believes me when I tell them I am.) -

Actually I'll be changing it to 3, one isn't as bad as I thought they were and the other one left.
I was surprised you got mod status because as VATAV said, you tend to argue in the same way that I do sometimes, which in most cases isn't seen as polite. I have almost nothing against you other than that one time when we argued about semi-auto vs auto and it kind of felt like you were arguing for the point of arguing (which I hate doing), but other then that you're a far above average forumer in my opinion.
