Building a PC
So im thinking about building my own PC.
Ive got the parts chosen out already and wanted some info to see if theyre decent enough for crossfire or other games. Im on a low budget and wont be playing high end
games. Maybe i will idk.

some parts will be taken from my old PC.
If theres anything better you can suggest for the price i would greatly appreciate it.

ok build -
http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0382798 - is a much more reliable processor, with better compatability, for cheaper, and i doubt you'll even use the true potential of that...so an 8-core is useless...
Can't fault the choice in motherboard.
With the money saved on the processor - go for http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0359910 that RAM - one if the best makes and types out there, much better than an unbranded one.
again, money saved from the processor - go for a better GPU, something LIKE http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0394070 but im sure you'd be able to find better for a similar price elsewhere...
I'd recommend getting another case though - ideally, you want a bottom mounted PSU - puts less strain on the case, and better airflow design...and again, worth spending some money to get a good quality PSU - it'll last longer and be better at the job in hand...
also worth considering//needed would be case fans, and an aftermarket CPU cooler.
Guessing you already have a SATA-HDD, CD//DVD drive?
Hope this helps! -
Lets put this out, it's much wiser if you wish to get a $ wise machine to go full amd so why a geforce video card ? and why a 8core ? Do you really need a 8core ? If you over price on some of the part and lack on the others you wont have the efficiency of the machine because the power just wont fit with each other, it's like a chain if one doesn't supply the same quality of work as the other the whole chain will show it.

I do know intel has better gpu and cpu than AMD the thing is when you have no monies like them kids they need something more money wise which is radeon series. -
If you want a good computer here's a few tips from an experienced builder;
- get a nvidia gpu
- get a intel processor, better than amd(check benchmarks)
- get a couple of fans/ GET A HEATSINK
- Get a nice coolermaster case, I have a coolermaster storm scout- very nice
- WATCH GUIDES AND LEARN IT BEFORE YOU DO IT.
coolermaster cases are over-rated...you can do just as good a job for half the price by buying a cheaper case, and just putting a few fans in it...
for my case + fans it cost around £35 ($65) and it does an awesome job and looks uber cool :P
just my opinion... -

thanks helped. i really save money with this.
Ive never build a PC before but ive watched some vids and took my old one apart. Im looking into it before i actualy do it.
But thanks alot, still open for suggestions. -

Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong.
Nvidia gpu are expensive if you don,t have the money it's wiser to go with amd, same thing for the cpu, benchmarks will let you know the power of it but wont let you know the god damn price differance.
Too many fans are not worth it, placing them correctly will give you the good airflow you need and wont eat on your watt.
Coolmaster ain't the only case that exist and most of them have cheap part rosewill and antec are also good choice of case.
Go with your price but don't put money into it if it's to get a unbalanced machine. Get something that goes together, same generation +- 2 years differance.
*******MAKE SURE you got enough watt/rail for your computer in your psu else what you could get some mysterious suprise. -
OT: I'll give you some advice, don't take suggestions from idiots. You'll become one yourself.
i'll give you some advice, don't flame.
everyone has different ideas, no doubt we'd all do a build differently if we had the same money.
but give him suggestions//alternatives like in my first post, be helpful and constructive, or take it somewhere else. -

+1 one tip dont buy amd 8120 or the 8150 no need for 8 cores. i am stuck with one and they blow. -
Ok so here's what ill be getting. Im gona use natts advice since im not good at choosing parts.

Ive got 2 questions. How many FPS do you think ill get in CF?
Is there anything i should change to something else(with the same price)?
EDIT: ill be choosing the EVGA Geforce 9800 GT since ive watched some reviews on the 640 and 9800. seems to be better.
Another question.
Which one: 640 or 9800 GT? -
[MOD]NattNatt wrote: »fps depends on what res you play.
but to give you an idea, i used to play with an amd phenom II X6, 8gb Vengeance Ram, and a nVidia 9500GT, on 1024x768 i got 200 constant, in every room.
on 1920x1080, i got about 120ish in an 8v8...
ok good to know ill get good FPS for a really low price.
Plus since im buying amd phenom ill get my motherboard for only $10. which is efing amazing.
