Use Xpadder if you really feel the need to.

you can use an xbox 360 usb controller if you have the right program... its so difficult to use though so youll be better with a regular mouse.

Yeah your pretty much defeating the fact that it is a PC game by using a gp.

There is no way to get a gamepad to work on Cross Fire, it's not the way Cross Fire handles it, it's the way xTrap handles it. xTrap simply does not agree with the use of a gamepad, and a mapper will cause an error when you try using it with Cross Fire.

Actually if you're not a computer nab you could do the mapper stuff too, you just have to make your own or find & edit source. But for general public, nope you're SoL like you said.

Still not seeing a gamepad being useful though.

Using a gamepad isn't supported by xTrap, as for mappers it thinks it's an unfair/malicious program trying to 'inject' something into the game.

The only way to avoid this would be to bypass xTrap completely, and run the game without the anti-hack software in place. Which is extremely illegal regarding the TaC for use of the game. This being said, they patched the no-xTrap injection method ages ago.

Simply put, gamepads cannot be used with Cross Fire unless you edit the files of the game/xTrap itself which is just as illegal as running the game without xTrap.
