Can some one please send me the link to manual patch files.

May be its my firewall. The patch fails most of the time and it leaves crossfire in a bad state that the patcher dies silently.

    Make sure your Task Manager has no patcher_cf.exe more than 1. Not sure if this will work.
    Go to C:/Program Files (86x)/Z8Games/CrossFire and run something that looks like this.

    AND MAKE SURE FIREWALL IS DOWN.

    I always check if patcher is running or not. That is not the problem. What i suspect is: The patcher many times fails during the patching process. And it leaves CF in an invalid state (It thinks the old patch worked but in reality it doesn't). And turning the anti virus and firewall did not solve the problem. The only way it works for me is:

    1. make a copy of your CF folder once it is working fine for you.
    2. When it stops working, overrite CF folder with the copy.
    3. Run patcher till you get lucky and all the patch files are installed.(You might have to do steps 2 and 3 over and over to get it right)

    This makes me think that the real issue is with the patcher. It is simply not capable of proceeding further if the last run failed abruptly. If that is the case, the best solution is to download all patches separately and run it offline.
