Do you think this is waste of money? lol

  • build it yourself use same spec, and it will cost /2 the price.

(and its funny to put things together) I'm so addicted to build my own stuff I got to buy a new part every 2-3 months else what I go nut.
  • starting price of $7,669 and a high-end price of $17,000. That's OD. For that you can build a sick pc. get a 360 AND a ps3. and have money left over.
  • i can't find the price tag but its pretty much impossible for a layman to guess what a "reasonable price" is for custom parts.

probably safe to assume its performance-wise overpriced though.
  • From what I've been searching, 2 sites, this cost $7,600 about. That's a lot...
  • one would think they could make a website that works..
  • It's not overpriced, building a custom case like that costs a lot and takes a long time. They need payment for their work too, not just the components.
  • No. While you're at it, buy 2 and take a bath with the other one.

One does not really need to get paid 4000-5000$ over the price to get such things working, it take 2 hours to put it together and to build a box like that would be like less than a day.

This project took him few days: http://www.shazim-mohammad.com/portfolios/pc-deskcase-mod-2012-3/

So tell me is it really worth paying a technician "4000-5000$" for few days of work, or it's maybe because he's getting paid 10$/hrs and somebody else get all the $$ ?

or the million dollar machine they invested in to be able to streamline th process needs to be paid off, so they charge more for the computer.
    only makes sense, simple business.

That's the starting price for the cheapest one. the top of the line one is more that twice that

I can't build my own computer yet. I haven't learned about them enough.

I have emailed them they gave me a price of about 5,800. But you can change your custom parts and it could cost more/less.
  • That thing has a built in Xbox 360. Wow, just wow.
  • As said several times, yes its over-priced. But its definitely something I would buy if I had the money. But, again as said before, you can just build it yourself. Use Google if you need help I guess xD Its not really that hard building them, just takes time some times :P
  • i have money and i would not buy this, useless.

I believe you can choose red, green, blue, yellow, or rainbow. That's what I remember.

A baby can build his own computer, the only things you got to remember is , just ask people here what part fit together, and unmagnetize your hands (by just putting your hand on top of a power supply by example) and that's it you're up to build your own computer.

Id build one for half the price and sleep with the one I have now. >_>

    These guys are absolutely right.
For a decent motherboard that supports SLI or crossfire, you're probably talking £150-£300
For the i7 extreme processor ~£700
    For 6GB or DDR3 water-cooled ram ~£100
    For a ATI Graphics card ~ £150 ... In 4x crossfire : £600
    For an NVidia Graphiss Card ~ £200 .. in 3x SLI £600
Water cooling system : £200 for a really nice corsair one
For an X-fi sound card (5.1 surround) £120
For Sick case, UV lights and additional fans: £250
    For a PS3 : £300
    For An Xbox 360 £350
    Total: ~ £2700

    (which is about $4200)

You're an idiot if you think this computer took a few hours to put together. This is called the 'Big O' for a reason. Looks VERY nice. I would buy it if I had the money. If you have the money, go for it. Looks like a really deadly and sick rig. Bragging rights will be all yours with that thing - aha.

If you are tight on money, i'd suggest building your own. But that thing is without a doubt overpriced, but looks amazing.

I agree. For this sort of money, on the whole you're not paying for the components, your buying into the "Spiel": The talk they give you when you walk into a car showroom. The one that makes you feel better than everyone else because you have a disposable income, the one that makes you think you'll play better at the game because you have a better computer etc.

You could argue that some of this money goes into the customer service and website, but as MOD dot has already commented, the website that isn't up to much. This alone would fill me with doubt as to whether they know what they're doing or not!

If you have ~$5000 to give to a salesman's next Merc, Go ahead and buy one :D

He means to earth yourself. This gets rid of any built up static charge that would otherwise fry the delicate circuitry on PCBs (printed Circuit Boards). The best way to do this is to touch something like a radiator, or anti-static foam.

    They're clearly not using GPU's for £200.

And that case would cost a liiiiiiittle more than £250.

You know the reason all your parts come into a little plastic like that is to be sure that anybody who handle your items cannot discharge a static charge, by putting your hands on a plane metalic surface you will be sure to have no charge left that would damage the piece by handeling it with your hands.

There's tons of part that are wise to do so such as, cpu, gpu, ram stick, hdd, ssd, mobo. For the fan, the case, the psu and the cpu fan who the hell care at time your hands are not close to the other part :) but yea static is the devil of these precision machine that let you be "cool" in front of your other geek or nerd friend.

Good point. I only used these figures as a rough outline to iterate my point. I.e you're paying for the show, rather than getting your money's worth of components.

i know what he means, demagnetize yourself isn't the correct term, i work around electrical equipment that is 3 times your parents annual salary combined.
