Increase password length

Title says it all...
I think the password length for CF right now is 12 characters, would it be possible to extent it to 20? because then our accounts will be much more protected and I think this will benefit all players

you don't need more than 12 characters for a secure password.

its highly unlikely that anyone bothers with bruteforcing our db.

its highly likely that someone is keylogging you, or you're sharing your password - in which case, the strength of the password is irrelevant.

Passwords already allow letters, capital letters and numbers. I don't know for sure, but might even allow certain symbols as well. Don't you think 12 characters is enough to come up with a good password.

Just use Capitals and numbers .

i do not want yout to give z8 ideas! on increasing their password protection, they might make us do upper case and all that! lol

lol 12 characters isnt enough? what kinda password do you use a whole text or something? 12 is more then enough also someone that dont know you wont hack your account by just trying to guess the password you know how many things you could try?

There's absolutely no reason to limit the password length. Passwords should only be saved as (salted) hashes anyway, so length doesn't matter in terms of HDD space (since hashes always have the same length).
I'm simply against any form of password length limit, so I support this.

PS: Steam has an awesome bug that doesn't let you change a password that is more than 32 characters long. You can register, login and play and everything fine, but you're unable to change your password... LOL
