Ghost mode tips?
I look at these videos and they see ghosts that are standing still from like a mile away. Sometimes they just know where they are. Am I missing something? When I play as GR I can't really pinpoint a ghost like that and I definitely don't hear them breathing.

I play with a normal gamma and I still own the ghosts when im in GR . But yes , for the gm starter a higher gamma value would be ok too (not 100 , it will hurt your eyes)
Headphones are the most important part for a ghost mode player + a silencer gun (that will help you hear better and it will help your team to hear better too ) -
All these tips are true - 80% of my kills are due to my headset...i can hear breath and footsteps for miles away. For me it also helps a lot that i only do GM in the evening when it's nice and quiet in the house and i dont have (sun)light that might hit my screen.
To be honest i try to kick out any idiot that walks around with loud and or spray guns like m60 rpk and even AK which are all eardrumterrorism. If someone needs to randomly spray in GM it's clearly not their game.
So relax...look and listen...walk silently with your silenced gun and try to avoid loud teammates that stomp and spray. Just distance yourself from them.
Play as much as you can as often the less skilled opponents can be easily killed as they tend to make the same mistakes over and over. A ghost camping in a corner without noise down can be heard from quite a distance - pinpoint and kill! ( when u succeed they will QQ hard but just ignore)
Good luck -
Max volume, practice, practice and some more practice. You'll keep getting better over time as well as gaining game sense. You'll know where the ghosts tend to sit every time. Gamma and blood helps of course, but all you need is a loud headset and some game sense.

basicly what demoniite said

gamma isnt really needed( although it helps, in the long run, your eyes will just get used to it), you just need a keen eye
and a good set of ears with a nice headset( mostly for GR but usefull in both sides), and the most important, practice pinpoint bhop and gamesense( this one you just gain with time

100 gamma makes you go blind...
i play enough GM to know where most ghosts are at, from noobs to above average ghosts. pin point usually finishes the job or straight up spraying
and you don't need max volume...i play at 3-5 in game sound while i play GM -
no to gamma, and no to loud volume. Those are for noobs.
high volume hurts your ears, and high gamma hurts your eyes... why waste your body to play a game?
Instead: volume at around 1/2 is good. Gamma 75 is good, because 50 is sorta too dark lol even for other modes.
For Gr, use headphones at normal-low noise.
Remember that when ghosts bhop they have a specific bhop speed. All you have to do is to spray slowly in a radius from where you last hear the breath of the ghost. Ghosts cna only get to a certain point in a certain time-span, so you have to spray accordingly. Also, noob ghosts tend to go to sepcific spots such as vents, so spray there you never know. -

I thought your headphones broke. -
You have to confuse the ghosts that they get fear before they cn do this to you.
If this doesn't help, play like a noob at first. Walk in one direction so the enemy thinks he can attack and then jump, turn around and spray.
This tactic is always a win because all ghosts are kill-greedy.
Or if you think someone is going to plant, but he has fear and you just don't know where he is, pretend to walk to the other side and come back while he's planting - you will hear where he is
These are the little things what can you do and what I do.
Pretending to be a noob and then act like a pro always wins, but let you get kicked more often lol. -
Let me just say all settings for sound and gamma and whatnot all depend on what you own...
I've had headphones that used 5 volume... I've had other that needed 50, some even 100. Currently using 15-25 depending on how much music I've listened to for the day. e_e
I've used about 4 different monitors and 2 laptops. The laptops needed 100 gamma, the monitors varied... Currently using the default gamma for CF. Just get accustomed to what you play with, don't change it. It's like learning how to play again if you adjust your settings that only give slight differences that may not even improve your gameplay.

Tactics, if anything is what truly matters.
Keep 50/100 gamma and 50/100 sound. Use blood if anything.
Avoid open areas, stay in narrow places where the ghosts have very little room to maneuver. Areas like the hallway from GR Base to A site, B site, BL base or the water way.
Get used to thinking like a ghost. It's truly important. Don't focus on PPing way too much. Just hear it once and try to pinpoint in what direction he's headed and shoot where you think he's going to stop or is. The more you play the map the more you realize that BL players are incredibly predictable. Part of it being that the maps are small but whatever.
This also brings in the next point. Watch the minimap or use the tactical map by pressing the "~" key. Notice when your team mates die and see if you can predict where the ghost is headed. Be there before your target arrives.
So basically, hear breath once. Use your brain to figure out the rest. Of course you need a mid level PPing ability to even get a clear idea of what's going on.
Focus on more than just breath as well, footsteps, weapon slashing noises. Fall damage noise. All of it. Even spray of your team mates. It generally indicates that there are ghosts around them.
When you rack up hours of experience. You generally just "know" where ghosts are from hearing just a second of their breath.
Good luck. -
bro dont use 100 gamma, unless you are utterly blind, but all it does is hurt your eyes (default is good)
silenced weapons do help, especially for your fellow teammates
i dont recommend buying a 100$ headset because the difference is barely noticeable
my 15$ ear plugs work well
just practice and pp will come naturally to you
pro tip: never move in a straight line, youll be a treat to bhoppers
