That sounds like your lagging.
Dieing behind a wall means you really died 2-3 seconds ago and it took 2-3 seconds for your client to receive the info that you died, so it kills you where you are.
Ever see someone's corpse travel some distance when they die? This is why it happens, the body is going to where the client said it was when it received the dead info.
The higher ones ping is the more ahead they are of the server and the more behind the info they get is.
Deagle sometimes taking 4 shots to kill rather then its normal 2-3 is usually caused by the lag as well. Either your shooting where he was and the server sees because he is not there anymore when the server receives the shot info or it is taking longer for the shot info to get back to you so your wasting 2 more shots on a target that is already dead in the server but not on your client.
Lag causes all sorts of issues and puts many at a disadvantage. -
Since you know it's a lag shot, why are you complaining?
i dont lag and the other person dont lag aswell then i dont get it 'lag shot'?
also when i started playing that didnt happen lol.
i dont lag i allways have arond 99-100 ping so that isnt lag. That sounds like your lagging. -

Ping needs to be under 50 to not have significant lag. 100 Ping is lag. -
lol then half of the people on the game lags.Ping needs to be under 50 to not have significant lag. 100 Ping is lag.
also my ping got lower i use to have 130 ping and then i didnt have it that i got killed behine a wall.
but now i got 99-100 ping and i do get killed behine the wall.
then tell me how that works? -
yeah but the person dont lag and he shoots then i go behine the wall and after 2 sec i get killed like lag shot.
but i get it more and more these days.Since you know it's a lag shot, why are you complaining?
He might have been spiking. -
lol then half of the people on the game lags.

Actually about 80%. -
no i checked it and he didnt spike. He might have been spiking.
well i think the game was way better back in 2009 i mean like less laggers with 200 ping and less QQ and stuff like that their wased that much people like that. sign
edit:
well its funny to me when people say 100 ping is lag.Actually about 80%. -

What you described sounds a lot like lag.
Lag isn't just caused by having high ping but also by instability.
Instability can be caused by simply the connection being rerouted or any number of things.
The in game ping status only calculates the average over a period of time, so it can stay at 99-100 well your true ping can be much higher then that for a period of time.
If you want to test your true ping at any time just switch your weapons frequently when not attacking anything. The delay between when you issue the command to switch to the time it switches on your screen is your true ping at that time. -
yes my ping dont change well yes but just like 1-2 up or down but that down even happen alot. What you described sounds a lot like lag.

well my ping is pretty good since im from belguim and 2 other friends got 120-130 ping and one of them got even way better internet lol. -
lol then half of the people on the game lags.

if other players have low ping, they can see u earlier and also respond faster than you do. so lag is relative to other players.
your pc can also have latency. when i used to use hdd my game lagged until i installed ssd.
it's much improved, so i think hardware also plays a big role. thus i plan to upgrade to a better cpu and mobo. -
true but if your connection is fine all the time and you know it is.your pin can also spike if your connection slows down.
but i do wonder how people with 200 ping play.....
if i ever get a ping like 150 i just quit the game right away because i hate lag lol. -
Also ping is only the time it takes for information that was sent to be received one-way.
It doesn't factor how long it takes the computer to process that information.
So lets for example say you see a enemy player pop out around a corner.
This information is already 100 ping or 0.100 seconds old to you.
Also add say about 0.100 seconds for your computer to process the data so it can show you.
You respond with above average reaction time of 0.150 seconds (average is 0.200 seconds)
Your response takes 0.100 to process on your computer and 0.100 seconds for the server to receive the response.
So...
0.100
+0.100
+0.150
+0.100
+0.100
Total:0.550 seconds
The amount of time from when he popped around the corner to when your response arrives.
It only takes 0.300 seconds for a lethal amount of bullets from the average rifle to kill someone so your response may be 0.250 seconds to late. -

that's why South Server is full of high ping players, they play with each other more easily.
if u ping lag, it will also delay other players from seeing u, so u "Tank", and it is harder to hit you, but even harder for u to hit them.
if ur system lag, then u won't tank, u will just react slower due to the time the system needs to process the game. -
This is not something new, crossfire was always like this. But I think it'll get worse with every update because new content is added which makes the game bigger and harder to for your computer which causes more errors.
This is the reason why I don't play crossfire that much anymore. It Is annoying when I shot an enemy and he doesn't dies or when you die after you are behind the wall. Those kind of things don't happen in counter strike, or any other game. Crossfire is the only game I know that has this bugs. -
Armor, distance, slow registry, where on the body you hit.how come if i shoot someone with a D.E.
i shoot 2 times i got 100 damage.
then other times i shoot 4 times i get 40-50 damage.
Some times you think you're far behind a wall but your leg or hands are still exposed. Ping lag. Computer lag. You were actually killed by someone else but you didn't notice.or go behine the wall and then you get killed and im behine the wall for like 2-3 sec.
please tell me whats going on with crossfire?
True. Less content and more bug fixes would be the thing needed right now.BadMonkey666 wrote: »new content is added which makes the game bigger and harder to for your computer which causes more errors.BadMonkey666 wrote: »Crossfire is the only game I know that has this bugs. -

same its the only game i get bugs and lag things. -

In addition to your own 'conditions' (hardware etc as mentioned), you also have to take into Z8's server and network infrastructure - their servers and the capacity (and configuration) of the servers to respond quickly are one thing, but we also have to take into account their routers (similar capacity & configuration considerations, but in many ways more critical) and also their own network connections and the type of connection being utilised - all these are contributing factors in gameplay. But, these Z8 infrastructure considerations are consistently overlooked by most players. Similarly the capacity of your ISP to meet demand is a contributing factor, for all the same reasons just noted.
Its not uncommon for routers associated with 'high-traffic' services to be either under specified for traffic demand and type, routing mis-configured, or for their to be a mis-match between router and network link. These factors will seriously influence gameplay and it doesn't matter if you have the latest Alienware Gaming PC - game play will be frustrating. When a router can't 'keep-up' with demand, it buffers what cannot be sent. If demand continues to ramp and the choke is not resolved the buffer becomes full, the router then drops further packets (buffer overflow). Under these conditions the router CPU is also often operating at maximum or 'flat-lining' as it is known in the trade.
We have experienced a lot more of this kind of behaviour than people realise.
If the configuration of these devices is also sub-optimal then anommolies in performance occur and quickly distort the true picture.
For example, many players on West Coast Server have seen their pings drop back to old levels (2009). Their country's haven't moved closer to the USA - rather, infrastructure, configuration and routing 'changes' have been made that have restored more optimal performance.
For more balanced gameplay its not simply your ping that matters (hardware aside), its the relative ping to other players - the differential. This partly explains why a room of high ping players can have more satisfying gameplay than a room comprised of both high and low ping players.
Adjusting your tactical approach can make a big difference in these circumstances.
PS: Ping is NOT one-way, by definition ping is round trip time (RTT), source-destination-source. The internet does not guarantee that the round trip follows the same path. This creates circumstances where one path can be considerably shorter than the other - and vary from minute to minute, second to second, milli-second ... etc etc
PSS: Z8 don't use ping, AFAIK no game does. If they did, most of us would show ping as zero (0) as we drop ICMP ping packets on our network edge (router). What most people in CF call ping, is actually an in game packet stream, ie. same ports as your client and their servers - and a crafted packet to indicate RTT status. 'Status' is in fact the term used in game, not ping, and for good reason. -

the servers are free, aren't dedicated servers.
