If you want to get good, practice playing against players that are better than you. Don't worry about kdr. Farming noobs in pubs will never make you into a good GM player.
you can pm me *]H[ellGhost if you ever want to play/practice/pub with me
Thanks.
Not really noobs, I just want to get more used to the headphones. So not noobs, but not over the top experienced. More like moderate. However in private I'm willing to play some really good players if they're willing to be patient and help me. I may PM you sometime.
-*]H[ell*- sometimes does some private rooms in the foxtrot server. Some days it's ZM, some days hide&seek, some days scrimming with each other. -
A few questions I have about GM:
How do you know which footsteps are the ghosts and which are your own or a team mates?
The ghosts breath slowly, so it'll take a few breaths (usually >6 for me because I have bad hearing, but then I'm usually dead) to locate where they are, is there a faster way?
The slow breaths also cause other problems, is there a way to solve this?
Can you bhop forwards without becoming visible first?
Can you change direction while bhopping?Pinetree_God wrote: »-*]H[ell*- sometimes does some private rooms in the foxtrot server. Some days it's ZM, some days hide&seek, some days scrimming with each other.
i was about to say that QQ
only do ZM when one of us has revives -
Lol. If youve got hellghost to play with you i think you better take the chance, i dont know if he was in the original hell though but hes still really good. @Pinetree are you talking about circle hopping?
@bullish

minimap and names (toggled with delete and insert) pretty much if theyre in the spot its most likely going to be them since a ghost would die pretty fast just running around

yeah better headphones or higher volume would solve this but you can try to listen more for the breathing in also, if you do its pretty constant. Also you can try walking around using shift and when you hear them move away so you have more time and still pinpoint while dodging away

REALLY slowly
Can you change direction while bhopping?
yep depends how good you are at bhopping, at first youd probably have to turn around and regular bhop but while facing forward you can pretty much make a 90 degree turn using a or d like the one in lab hallway
@everyone crying about gm being crap now because ghost is too easy
gr is just as good as long as you can pp -

I don't believe he was and no not the circle bhopping. People always complaining about getting dizzy when they watch me play.
You do know there have been problems with sound right?@everyone crying about gm being crap now because ghost is too easy

Lol, really? You really need to play BL with me more...
Same thing goes for me too lol, people say watching me play hurts their brain xD -

1: Because melee weapons are lighter then most guns, the Ghost run faster and make more footsteps per second then a GR with a gun. If there are a lot of steps close together it most likely a ghost. GR usually have a bigger time space between footsteps.
Pat, Pat, Pat, Pat, Pat, Pat, Pat, Pat, Pat = Ghost (Usually)
Pat,...Pat,...Pat...,Pat,...Pat,...Pat,...Pat = GR.
Takes a little practice to tell the difference, you can also use the minimap to check if it is a teammate but that usually takes valuable reaction time away if it is a ghost about to kill you.
2. Sadly only practice can help. Better soundcard and headphones can help hear them better, but locating them takes practice. When one gets good enough they can predict the most likely path of a ghost based on only 2-3 breaths and spray them down.
(I'm still working on this myself)
3. Two ways to do this.
A: Start a standard backwards B hop and do a 180 in the middle of it to face forward.
B: Get a running start. (You will be visible for the first 2-3 hops with a running start, but it is much faster then a normal B hop)
4. Yes, changing directions is possible. It requires use of the A/D keys and turning with the mouse. I regularly B hop in circles around GR for fun none stop (Sadly I usually fail a B hop once in awhile and get killed). Turning is a bit wide so it requires some room to do. -
well, you just got to get used to bhop, after that you will learn how to change directions and all that basicly on your own
well with the right key combination you can do an easy 90 degree turn, or even a 180
just practice the loops vatav is talking about
( regular back bhop(S) and turning the mouse to the side u want, then u can make the turns even tighter with A or D
) -

Thanks for your help, but as I stated, I can bhop pretty good, and change directions, but the whole circling GR's thing is new; I'll make sure to try it.

most bhoppers do "U" shape pattern bhops when encountering a gr that's already shooting at them, just keep that in mind. -
Afff what random said. But then again, your really good at it. and it works out well. O_OPinetree_God wrote: »Find me in game someday if you wanna witness the 360 hop. ^_^
OT: It'll take alot of games and paitence to get good or experienced. Just practice with friends alot. Learn some spam spots, good strats and most importantly learn to memorize breath. (Also learn Bhop.) -
You don't need good headphones for gaming. You need good headphones for music or movies. You have to hear the sounds but the quality of the sound doesn't matter.
If you use headphones a lot you should buy one for 150-250 but if you use them for gaming only you can just buy one for 5-50, they do a good job too. you don't have to buy expensive headphones if you just use them for gaming. It's like buying $200 headset so you can hear who slept with your mother in best quality. -

Most good B hoppers, that is why it can be hard to predict the b hops.
The average player I encounter B hopping usually just goes in a strait line.
Usually only the top GM clan players seem to know how to curve it. -
GM comes down to being a mind game. whether its 1v1, or 5v5, it doesn't matter if you're the best pinpointer, or the best bhopper, if you can outsmart your opponent and predict their actions, you'll gain much more "skill" than the others.
The only way to do this is to just play the game and practice. -
