XM8 Spring vs. M4A1 Bronze
Whelp, my ZM8 Spring expired today. I think I used it like 3 times during the whole 90 days. Although I've seen it quite often in the game, and I know that not all players have as many guns as me, but I think that the XM8 Spring was kinda pathetic. Other than in HMX, the gun is unreliable and the skin was ridiculous.
Now we Have the M4 Bronze, an underpowered re-skin that everyone once again, has exchanged their precious Cross Fire dog tags for.
The point im getting at here is that it takes non zp buying people months to get all the dog tags required to exchange them, myself included. Ive bought a few extra mission cards here and there, and still managed to get doubles of the same tags.
After finally obtaining the last dog tag that you need, youre so ecstatic.
But the prizes have kinda sucked since the 5 DE Scope crates were removed. The XM8 Spring was a let down and so is the M4 Bronze.
Im guessing we will have the M4 Bronze for the next few months, and I want to ask if anyone knows if the next dog tag reward weapon / item will be worth all the effort of getting all the dog tags.
Im sick of doing the missions knowing that the end prize is nearly worthless, to most players anyway.
I guess the main point of this thread is me trying to ask the mods if there is any way us, as the communtiy, could actively vote on what weapon we could get from the dog tag rewards.
Possibly g4box could communicate with the developers who release new content, and find out what specifically we could get from the dog tag reward. then post the options on the forum, and let the community vote on what prize they would like to see the most.

pointless thread is pointless, the answer is clear, you didn't have to write a whole page on it
All you do is stalk my posts and flame. gun vs gun threads are a great source for discussion on this forum. since you cant ever post anything worthwhile, shut your mouth troll. -
M4A1 Bronze is the first silenced weapon that is free and available to all the players.
(M4A1 CC, is "technically" free but very hard to get with out investment in money or lots of time)
So now more players have a chance to use a silenced weapon in GM.
I rather have the spraying noobs in GM use a silenced weapon over a non-silenced one anyday. Stat wise it feels a lot like a M4A1 Silver to me with a different spray pattern. -

Regular and ADV are better. The only reason XM8 is famous is because of the full wall bang. -

I think the m4 bronz is just a regular m4 camo with a new skin. So, just another rip off gun. But in CQB its pretty amazing. -

There's two perceptions here that are going to be difficult to address or change in anyone who has this line of thought.
First off, Dog Tag rewards can change.
Having said that, the idea that Dog Tags are a precious commodity is something that I'm not entirely sure is accurate. Dog Tags are a commodity with the only use being to cash them in for some sort of extra reward. They are only precious based on the type of reward, and since now that reward has changed 3 times in the last 6 months it's obvious that this variable reward reduces the value of dog tags. Which is fine, because they are extra.
Lets look at what you could get for playing 20 missions in a month. Missions, for the most part, are basically just free rewards for playing the game for what you would normally do anyways.
10,000 GP
1000 EXP
Mutation Mode Character 7 Days (zp item)
Bullet Proof Jacket 7 Days (zp item)
Bronze Grenade 7 Days (zp item equivalent)
20 Dog Tags
Since tags are random you are correct in saying that it takes some players longer than others to get their rewards. But if you do the missions each day, you can pretty much guarantee that length to get the right ones will shorten.
Lets look at the time invested to get that (on today's missions)
4 SnD wins. Arguably the hardest one to get here today because of the nature of the beast. However you could play a clan war or with friends to better your chances to get this.
3 GM wins. Less wins, but GM plays like SnD so this is also a 'challenge'.
80 FFA kills. The easiest one to get today, the average for this is probably 3 games played though since we're talking to the community here, and most of us here are better than the average, it will likely take you 1 or 2 depending on the game settings.
Time invested in these games, getting these missions is all well within reason.
So you can get the above items, without spending any money, with a brand new character and you'll have a variety of different items and weapons you can try out in the game and in other modes.
Now this may not appeal to you, as a veteran player who has tried a few M4A1's and doesn't need a Bronze version, but to a new player this provides some variety and additional interest into the game.
You, as a veteran player, get a constant source of additional GP which you can use to repair your weapons or increase your collection of permanent ones through the gp weapons or gp crates. Plus you as a veteran player may want to pick up an extra mission card so you can get even better rewards (the extra mission rewards are much better). Plus you get the added experience which is going to be more appealing to your veteran status as well.
Lastly, like the coupon exchange, the daily missions provide some rewards which are unavailable in other parts of the game. The variety gives all players the chance to see new stuff and work towards trying it out. Think of it this way, if you had the same item in 2 containers, one with a lock and one without the lock, which one would you be more willing to open? If the item was different in both containers then the decision would be a different one for a larger portion of the public.
So hopefully with a bit of explanation here you can see that the point of these missions is not to just give out more permanent weapons via crates. These changes to the Dog Tags is better for the long term sustainability of the game and gives newer players different options. Dog Tags shouldn't be treated as some sort of precious commodity, they are additional things you can strive towards to try new content out in the game. -

If everyone read my guide, gun vs gun discussions wouldn't be much of a discussion. With my guide it's easy to tell who's right and who's wrong.[GM]Saidin wrote: »4 SnD wins. If I remember correctly, clan wars do not count towards the daily mission. -

How can we believe that your gun facts are 100% correct and is accurate? Even though it looks correct, we need enough proof to believe that your not making it up.
