Has anyone used Windows8 preview to play CF?

Doesn't work yet. Xtrap doesn't support it yet.

No, not yet, when the full version of Windows 8 comes out, CrossFire may be compatible at the time.

who the hell cares? Windows hasnt been good since XP. Why would you upgrade to Win8? Win7 still fails well enough on its own!

no, crossfire is compatible (you can install and start it), but xtrap is not, and will not be compatible because they hire noobs, instead of pro's. I just came from a egypt room were a "pro" player made 250 kills. so no comment about x-trap and their skills.

Not actually useless. I cannot use xp on my build without using too much resources. 7 is better for me.

For AMD 6 core or 8 core users,

Win8 should have better support, meaning AMD multicore rigs will run faster.

Bulldozer was screwed partly due to lack of support from Windows.

Have fun with DirectX11. Windows 7 has been fine for me and I would hate to go back to XP as I'd lose several integral features I use on a daily basis.

The best thing I saw on Windows 8 was when they showed the taskbar. I shall be removing the app store when/if I get 8.

Anyway, yeh as I've stated in that thread, probably won't be supported until full release. It happened with Windows 7 too. (Xtrap is programmed to run on certain windows kernels, the Windows 8 one has not be added yet)

Then why are you using it then? Better yet, I bet you have a pirated version of Vista and you BSoDs all the time in it so you're *****ing and whining about an OS that for the most part is 90% stable until DUMMIES install things they SHOULDN'T...

Windows 7 is the most stable release of Windows since Win 2k...even XP is far less stable on a CLEAN INSTALL.

So shut your mouth down, sonny...until you've had to deal with a system running Windows ME you don't JACK to complain about...

well, win8 is going to use minimal resources and has the standard theme, so obviously i'm switching once the fundamental programs/games get proper support.

less resources spent on the operating system means more resources available to be used by the game, so yes.

no, win8 will need less of everything compared to win7 if i understand it correctly.

MS had always been sloppy until Win7.

Thanks to Apple and Google. MS is having to really compete for performance.

MS Security Essential is a good example of how MS is improving its products.

true, but to bad xtrap will be able to run on win 8 kernel in 2013 or 2014 becasue they will say: just keep your win 7 if you want to play..
