failed to download version.ini

i didnt play crossfire since 4 months , i downloaded latest version of the game and installed it then i pressed on "start" button as usual to start play , but its appears to me a error message says " failed to download version.ini." then i tried to start the game from cf patcher but same message appears to me so please tell me a solve for this problem

unistall it and then reinstall crossfire

Try running Crossfire as Administrator and make sure your anti-virus is off.

I've run into a very similar problem also. There's no fix I know about but if you keep on running it over and over it will eventually start to load.
After 5-6 tries (it varies) you will see it finally load to the end.

I'm assuming this is similar to the problem I had therefore the solution may be the same.

Delete the version.ini file and reload the game to force the game to update the file.
