Question to Rory about Fonts ingame

This question especially goes to Rory since i know he is a specialist for modding the cf ui (Modhub) but anyone else who has an idea to help me is greatly welcome!

I am annoyed by the gamechat, i would love to have an option to blockchat EVERYONE permanently (current blockchat only works for one room and for 1 round)

The game misses an option to do that! I want kill and not chat ingame

So i ask, is possible to alter the game fonts for example to size 0 so chat isnt displayed anymore to me?
I already tried to make the file ~\Crossfire NA\rez\Fonts\default empty or remove it but this is not a good solution since all fonts ingame are gone then (descriptions of guns, the TAB-list and so on)

so please, Rory, or someone else help me with this, since i play this game (far over 2 years now!) i suggestet so often to add an disable chat option, i also suggested it in the forum of cf eu which i play too, but i guess this willl not come officially so we must do it ourselves...
i know this would not stop me from recieving the data, just does not display it, but its better than beeing flooded with useless chat all the time

im sure im not the only one who would LOVE to play without any chat, just killing and nothing else ^-^

Unfortunately as Vu said, you can't change the fonts/chat in game. It used to be handled by the script files (along with a few other things) but they moved it onto the exe/client itself a while ago.

As for why, they will never tell us...because they hold the money.

The fonts are pretty compact, and are embedded somewhere in each and every file, then each and every one of those files locates itself to the file which contains the font, so in order to change the in-game font ONLY, you would have to go as far as modding some .rez files, which is 'illegal'.

To sum it up, no, you cannot make chat dissapear in-game.

Tryed go in Documents->crossfire folder->sistem and there change 0 to 1
like shadows xD

That's the wrong location first of all, secondly, that would change ALL font sizes in Crossfire to 0... meaning you can't see any text.

yes i hoped for these script files...
but that they moved it into the exe destroys all my hopes now

another question; can you mods forward suggestions to the gms? and they forward them to the makers of the game? i dont know how this process works but can you do something so that the gamemakers get this suggestion and implent this?

yes they do .rezmodding which is only for things like changing the textures of the guns and other things but i think the problem i have cant be solved with rezmodding

I have two possible bad solutions for you.

1. Write a program that removes/renames/moves the font folder each time you go ig and places it back when the game ends. The hard part would be detecting when you go ig and out of game but it is possible.

2. Write a program to alter the packets that tell the client to display the text. This approach may have ToS implications.
