Sad news!
South Korea the home land of Crossfire will closed down Crossfire in that country on the 11/07/2012. This is due to not making enough money and that the competitive gaming market there is high so not enough people are playing on the servers because of other FPS games.
This means, the main publishers for Crossfire is Neowiz which are now closing the game down for South Korea.
On the bright side, it has been rumored that Neowiz will sell their license to Tencent / QQ (publishers of Chinese Crossfire) which then will be the main publishers for Crossfire.
Or that Crossfire will be closed down forever in South Korea.
Plus, the players will get their money back for purchasing items which you have to pay money for. They will also have to change the logos for every version if Tencent take over.
What do you think of this news? I know it does not affect our version but it's sad news.

North Korea is the official publisher, not South Korea, are you dumb? -_-
It's South Korea. Neowiz is the Korean publisher of Cross Fire and are the main publishers. Don't start calling other people dumb. You could of said it in a nicer way and should have evidence to back up your point. Plus, please read my post again, I said South Korea is the home land of Crossfire which means Smilegate is in South Korea.

The second link is about Neowiz Games which are the main publishers for Crossfire. They are in South Korea. You just made yourself look dumb.

'A wrote:weS;3021679']I don't think that this will affect us, i think that they are gonna close this game in Korea...
Since a new publisher will come, they decide which content we get. And maybe they will give us a Dual M12S Gold Scope Knife Adv RD Camo or new guns . -
Plenty of games these days have their main consumer base in countries other than where they develop the game. Can't see it having any negative affect to any version imo.Since a new publisher will come, they decide which content we get. Neowiz are still going to be making the game.. -

I thought it was Smilegate who made the content? -
Anyway ya.... you could expect such a thing in korea the free to play market for games is huge.
Anyway, lets see what QQ can came up with and maybe instruct the NA developers.
I expect that the are at least working together for some stuff like how the game will be feature developed.North Korea is the official publisher, not South Korea, are you dumb? -_-
Ya right, kim jong un must love playing crossfire to allow such a thing. -
Yes there is a South Korean Version of Crossfire. But it will get shut down on the 11/07/2012.
But they get their money back? I hope that this will never happen to ours! China version has all guns, why can't they use their account there? -

Yes they do get there money back on items which have been brought from using real money. -
With Z8s strategy of replacing perm guns with temp items in coupons, mainly reskins etc instead of new weapons ,removal of scope crates from daily mission etc, etc. I do not believe it will be long before we have the same kind of announcement made here.
There is only so long that you can flog a dead horse. -

In a thread about developers and publishers it doesn't make sense to not do the research first before posting.
Z8Games is a portal name. And the name of the portal that G4Box owns. G4Box is the publisher of Cross Fire NA/UK. We do not develop games. That means changes within the game as far as content go do not happen from G4Box (or if you insist on using the term even though it is wrong, Z8Games).
Secondly, take news like this with a grain of salt especially since it has no impact on our game. -

Point taken Saidin and I appreciate you taking the time out to explain and respond. But i think Z8/G4box could fight for our corner a bit more with the devs to stop most of these controversial changes coming to this version.
For what is an old game with a huge list of alternatives, you could be giving more away encourage people to stay and play longer or is the strategy to only last for 90 days.
Just a small example when the coupon changes were made I had 71 coupons and was planing to buy some more zp to get a new(perm) coupon gun when one came out.Since then i spent it all on armour and have not bought any zp since.I do not believe I am alone in making this decision.
I guess you will argue that I am alone in my decision and goodbye and all that. But really is that good business sense? To just rely on new people appearing buying zp and to dismiss and worry that you are giving too much away to all the other older players who just want perm items? Especially as many of us only play a couple of times a week so it would make no sense to buy a 30/90day temp item for an extortionate amount of coupons.
I have enough, indeed only crate weapons on both my accounts. So i never to buy zp again. If a new gun had appeared in coupons I would of bought some zp.So for me at least the strategy as failed.
BTW I tried to send this as a PM but his inbox is full as usual. -
Seriously, how can they give everyones money back?.... That just doesnt make sense... Everyone buys things on a F2P FPS game in the knowledge that one day all the money will just amount to nothing when the game closes down...
Edit -
Just saw this on smilegates website -
They listed England and the US as SG interactive and only Brasil as G4box xD -
