Find a processor i5 or i7 don't really need to get a extreme or anything even a i5 can max out CF. Then get a motherboard that's compatible and a powersupply. +motherboard which can fit the video card your purchasing.
The build list:
CPU
Core i5 2500K
$220
Graphics
XFX Radeon HD 6870
$200
Motherboard
Gigabyte GA-Z68MA-D2H
$125
Memory
Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1600 8GB kit
$95
HDD
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB
$60
Optical drive
Samsung SH-B123L BD-ROM combo
$65
Case
Coolermaster HAF 912
$60
PSU*
Corsair Builder Series CX600 600W
$70
OS
Windows 7 Home Premium OEM
$99
Total cost
$994
Don't really need a sound card or video card for crossfire because your graphics card is pretty much useless for CF. Graphics card which I personally like is Nvidia Gforce GTX 560
just buy like a i5 or i7 920 and you can max it out :P.
Get a 20,21 inch monitor if you don't already have one. -

I need a cheaper build. I still need to buy a monitor because this one is an all-in-one pc. -

You could max out with a $500-600 computer, $1000 rig is more like Ultra High Quality on Skyrim, which is what mine plays at (paid $750 for mine).
Also, go for this, this seems like a really decent build, but honestly, you can get an 18" monitor for under $100 which is PLENTY big for gaming.Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119233

Graphics Card - VCAS002345 Asus HD7750-1GD5 AMD 7750 $119.99
NVidia graphics better (less troubles with drivers and overheating)
Not necessarily true. ATi cards offer more power for the price any how. Have a look at this link, it shows the best value GPUs currently on the market.

you must read more about "VPU recover crash". And about errors at ATI Overdrive system. I know, what ATI cards more interesting, but last drivers from ATI can lead you to headache... IMHO.
PS i have a ATI graphic card too and know about different troubles from himself

Specs? Unless you drop my jaw to the floor that is priced a bit high.Surf around newegg.ca and mix and match. Remember, building a computer is like building lego, not difficult just needs all the right pieces. I built my own this past November, paid about 1700$.
