Changing IGN

Bought the change IGN item in the mall and I tried to change my name to ( ___ ) < cant tell you, but it said this name has been used before, you may try another name. The name is not in current use.

Does that mean that the name has been used before by someone and you cant use it again?

just did but is it possible to get someone else's old IGN after they changed it to something else?

Yes, but I believe how long it has been matters.

Edit: I could find no supporting evidence that I was right. Assume I am wrong.

You aren't able to get a username that has already been used by another player at any period of time because of identity impersonation, however, you may be able to contact Support and get the name.

I'd try contacting support again. Maybe someone else will look at the ticket.

Example of a IGN I used before that now are in use by other players. Pretty sure it only applies in regards to names that have already been used before on the individual account.
