I just downloaded crossfire but it wont load

I just downloaded the game, ive had it in the past. I hit start and the patch screen comes up and disappears right away and the game box closes also. Not sure whats wrong here, ive tried reloading it numerous times with the same affect. The version I downloaded is straight of the website. Need some help please

im not sure but it wont work doing that either, im about ready to give up on this. has to be an easier way

ive spent more than a day trying to get this to work now. ive reloaded this game at least 6 times now and have done all the suggestions that i could find. never had an issue in the past but now it doesnt seem to work.

Any background programs that may be disrupting the patcher, such as an anti-virus, or an overlay program such as x-fire?

You could also try deleting the hgwc and xtrap folders located at: C:/Program Files x86/Z8Games/Crossfire, then reboot Crossfire.

heres the problem. I dont see either of those folders in there after a fresh download, i believe its 1092

just got it to finally work, i had to close all my background programs, not sure which one it was but i got it working, thanks for all the information.
