Because you cant put a dot there, try underscore (the "_ " symbol)

look at my forum name.... then my ign in my sig.... So yes you can.

Your forum name cant be the same as you LOGIN ID not IGN.

Also I believe its the dot that is stopping you in this case tho. Never seen anyone with a dot in their forum name so I guess its not allowed for some reason.
