Pros:
Can Bhop whilst having it ready to attack any second.
It doesn't slow you down like it does in knife matches.
Cons:
It has a slow attack.
It can take up to 3 slashes sometimes to kill someone at full HP.
There's probably more, but I've not used it much. Note that you'll be getting more opinions then facts. -

Exactly this. In only knife matches you're pretty much screwed with it :
1. You don't really have the option to slash someone, because the enemy can easily stab or give you a hadshot until you slash 2-3 times.
2. So you have the only option to right click (stab) him.
In this situation you have to get lucky against pro knifer.
Situation :
A (you) is holding the katana with the right click and you're prepared t attack.
B (enemy) runs towards you, but in the moment when A thinks B comes directly towards him and A starts to attack him, B just goes a step backwards and then A is pretty much dead. -

hmmm, let see: a ninja weapon in a stealth game
Btw, you can easy make 80 kills on 12min game on arena if:
you don't slash like the noobs do with axe, you don't rush like you do it with a shovel and you will use in the right moment, you must try to use the left hand atack from 1 move, don't keep your finger on click, if you hold you will walk really slow (in gm you don't have problem) -

Slash like axers? Most axers stab but okay.
You are able to do this maybe in UK 2, but not in UK 1 / 4. -
The problem wih the katana in GM is the same as in every other mode : it's too heavy. You'll have trouble starting your hops, and if there are good GR players, they'll instantly kill you when you fail your hop. Other than that, it's not a good melee when there's a lot of enemies in a small place.

wrong, kukri is, kukri is the most OP melee weapon out that a ghost can use.Normally the axe is the most greatest BL weapons for GM
-easy right click timing
-fast bhops
-1 hit right click anywhere
-does like minimum of 60 damage left click
-pretty silent slashes -

O_O.
I have no idea where you got that idea, but most Axers that know what they're doing slash constantly because it's an easy kill to the head.
OT:It's alright. I used it for a while when it was in mission rewards, and I have to say it's definitely harder to use than the Axe. Your right click attack can be held for like forever, but you Bhop slower and if you miss you're pretty much dead. -
Depends on the situations. If you play against noobs that don't PP, run around and don't pay attention to sound. Then it it's one of the best because you can just camp and hold right click until you bhop to them, or they run to you. I also find it easier to clutch with (if you pick off the opponents 1 by 1).
If you play against pinpointers like VATAV, then it'll get you killed because your bhopping will be really slow. And if you miss, then you're screwed because the recover and reswing takes forever =.= -

Exactly, but yeah, you're fine for the most part since a really small amount of people know how the game works and that you can actually hear ghosts. -

Against a skilled Pin-Pointer, katana is very hard to use.
The shear weight of it makes b hops very slow and short, making you much easier to find for Pin-Pointers. The weak and slow primary attack is completely useless, the secondary attack starting unsheathed is faster at killing.
The only good thing about it is that it has the longest reach of all other melee weapons.
But very rarely does that reach come into play. It barely better then knife, but even that is arguable.
Still, I use it because I'm a masochist when it comes to playing video games. -

Vatav may be right for the thing with the range, because I haven't tested Kazana's range yet. Knife, Shovel,Axe, Kukri have the same range.
Here I mean the range directly towards the enemy and not the range when it hits the body. (the space it hits the whole body)
But I doubt the Katana has more range. All melees have (Kris too btw)
a range from 3,4 - 3,5 meters. But I will test it again more seriously. -

its not a good melee comparing to the others... and its cuz its harder that makes it fun to use... but knife is beast on the fun factor thing, so unless u want a change of pace and want to keep the challenge from the knife, id say get another melee :P
mostly usefull on GM but still nowhere near as good as any other melee( speed is key to ghosts).
