Ping issues with new computer - SAME INTERNET
Hi guys, I recently bought a new HP pavilion d76c23cl laptop computer. Upon downloading Crossfire, I jumped into a game and found that my ping was spiking like crazy. I've had another similar HP pavilion laptop, slightly older, that ran Crossfire perfectly fine. I would get a steady 85-95 ping without any noticeable problems with gameplay.
Now, my ping, when steady and normal, is around 86, the usual for me on the east coast servers(alpha, bravo, etc.) However, about every 3 seconds, my ping increases drastically to around 1.5k ping at the max. Other times, I'll just be jumped up to around 300-700 and it drops back down.
A side note, I'm using wireless internet...
My specs (overall system summary and network, for that's what the problems are?):

What I've tried already:
Editing a registry value involving the Multimedia service - no luck
Overclocking my PC - Little luck, as it was 1.6 ghz before, it is now around 3 or so
Flushing my DNS with cmd - nothing

key word realtime protection: I think that this dosent matter for your ping (not significantly)
My Ping is normal, but it varies from 40 upto 600 in 1 second. Then its normal again. I would like to know what this is, why it happens to me and how i can prevent it, cos its going on my nervs a bit whne im palying and cant switch guns or jump cross the map in one second when im ingame.

Wireless internet may be your key problem, as it's not always steady. While playing on my laptop, my ping will shoot up into the 100's, and it's normally 68, but on my laptop, which is hard-wired, it stays at the regular 68.
Check to see if there are any manufacturer software that may be using the internet as well. It sounds like a lot of your internet is being used up, increasing your ping drastically.
