MovieMaking Dictionary Request

Hello,
I would like to introduce myself in the moviemaking world so I can expand CrossFire and show-off some good footage that I have but for that I will need to watch some tutorials helping me out with the editing on Sony Vegas but I know nothing about MM so even searching for tutorials will be hard. (ashamed:o)

So I'm requesting the creation of a MM Dictionary or simply leave any websites or any "slang" related to MM here and I will edit this thread when I get enough info so I can actualy make the Dictionary myself.

BTW, how do MM get sucha stable recording: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pPd_iZ2icY&feature=plcp ? Is it called smoothing ? And how to do it?

I really am a newb in this matter.

And MMers have to log-in into CF then use the replay system and within the replay system they record the game and edit it or is there a program that can read .cfr files so it would be easier to record?

Really hope to get feedback,
thank ya.

  • A program like that would be useful but no, there isn't.

You must log in and watch the replay on the CF client.

It really is a pain recording smooths with the replay, it takes a while to perfect it. So don't expect to get it right right away.

    GL making movies.
  • smooth = free view of the map

and most of the good movie makers use a program that views .cfr files (called replayview) but we don't release it to the public. sorry.

Hmm you will have to teach me dat.
  • Everytime when I see something on a video that looks cool and nice, I search up an guide how to do it.
Also having a friend who has used SV for a long time would help a lot too.
Get some test clips and edit them for fun. You can always try different things and see what fits the best and what is your style.
At first you should learn how to zoom and mask, it will make you a lot better.
Then you should practice on making colors [no guides rly required]

Not everything has to always go to youtube. When I edit videos, I spend 80% of my time on testing things and seeing what fits the best.
    Its all about trying =)

If you are confused with something, try to look up an easy guide. I prefer under 5minutes guides, they teach the most.

Goodluck and have fun with MM ^^

You can also pm me with any questions about Sony Vegas, there is nothing that I dont know =p
After you have learned everything, you should try editing sounds aswell..
Or maybe add up some Cinema4D, but dont overload your brains :D
You cant learn everything in 1 day.

Yeah, I actualy know how to use C4D I find it way more simple to use it than Sony Vegas.
Next week, after finishing school I will try to start MM :D
