In my opinion the Scar light is much better, yeah you will be called "noob" and a lot of different and creative names, but who cares?
If i were you i would buy it for pubs and to raise your KDR and just use your other main weapon for clan wars and serious games. -

Quit the self-righteous "those guns are for nubs" crap. He wasn't asking about AK.
He was asking whether he should spend his gp on Scar-L or XM8.

Scar Light: Extremely low recoil and tight spread. Good damage and pinpoint accuracy.
XM8: Fairly low recoil, good damage and good accuracy, 100% wall-bang is a definite upside.
I'd go for the XM8. Other players seem to frown upon the use of the Scar Light since it's one of the best weapons in the game. If you don't mind what others think of you, go for the Scar Light.
