FoV?

Why doesn't Z8 implement FoV possibly? I know it's not the biggest issue here, but whenever I play crossfire for longer than 30 minutes now, it will mess with my eyes, and no, there isn't anything wrong with my eyes.

I'm used to being able to change my FoV on games like mw3, cod4, css, l4d2 etc. Therefore not causing me much stress at all, since I have to sit right up to my screen. But then I start to play CF and I just can't do it for long anymore..

Idunno, just an idea. Plus it would look nice i think :P

You cant change the FOV in MW3 without an external program.

The FOV in CF isnt a big issue and tbh... id be surprised is this was ever implemented. It would be nice... but they have bigger things to worry about.
  • I've honestly never noticed it, and I play Crossfire hours on hours.

Maybe it's just your eyes? You should probably go get them checked, you may need glasses.

What size screen do you play on?
  • It's about 18" I believe. I just realized now that I'm not sure what FoV is, I thought it was something else, brief explanation please?

The field of view. How much you can see. Generally if you have a console fov (65) on a PC game.. it will cause nausea and dizziness because you sit closer to the screen, most of the game is in your peripheral vision... which looks like crap.

The bigger the screen, the bigger the issue is.

    scaled.php?server=705&filename=fovq.png&res=landing

I made a little drawing the simply illustrate my point. The bigger screen you can see less of in your proper vision.. the squiggles are your peripheral vision. Thats what causes the issues.

With a wider FOV, you can fit more into your main vision which makes it more comfortable. A lower FOV will appear more zoomed in but is fine for console gamers because they sit further away from the screen.

Go into a game you can change the fov in. Change it to roughly 75 for your screen. You'll see the difference and how much more comfortable it is
  • sh!t i sat on my computer for Hours Tweaking and playing CF and i don't have problem on my eyes.. but I sit farther from my computer Screen though..
  • The solution I see here is:

    -Use a smaller monitor
-Sit further away (which is better for your eyes anyways)
  • -Sit further away (which is better for your eyes anyways)

Final solution : Laptop screen. Smaller then a desktop screen sometimes, but ALWAYS with the ability to be moved further away from your face at the cost of your arms hurting to all hell being stretched out to the keyboard...

And at the cost of having horrible hardware to play on :D
