Xtrap Error

You should try to delete your Xtrap folder then run the game again. The initialization should recreate the folder and files (Purple window on the bottom right hand corner).
Pathway to find it:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Z8Games\Crossfire\XTrap
i cant find the XTrap folder -
Add xtrap to your exceptions list in your anti-virus, or better yet, turn off your anti-virus completely. It sounds like XTrap is being blocked, therefor not able to run during start-up of crossfire.exe. I think it would also be worth opening Crossfire using "Run as Administrator...", as this will allow crossfire to take full access to whatever it needs.
EDIT:
Another suggestion if none of the above work, try deleting the whole Xtrap folder. Once you start up Crossfire again, the most recent version of Xtrap should begin to download. According to others this worked very well. -
Okay now, I am fairly certain this is actually caused due not to XTrap finding an error on your computer, but likely that XTrap can not connect to the internet to update and run. In otherwords, you have a program blocking internet access to XTrap. If you have any iobit programs, besides Game Booster, uninstall them all, also disable Avast if you have that.
Start -> Run -> MSConfig
Disable any anti-virus programs you may have, including any video records such as Fraps, under "STARTUP" (to disable it make sure that ONLY the programs you want to disable are check-marked)(Do not disable any Windows Processes as this may cause System instability, which only results in the system restarting itself.)
Go to the "Services" tab and turn it off, same rule for disabling applies here too! Disable the same things as you disabled in the StartUp tab. -

Unfortunately this solution used to work back in the day a lot and saved more than 80% of all people's sanity, but now I rarely ever see this solving the problem.
Mostly because now-a-days people own their own computers and do not share them with family so they only have one User Account and that is the Computer Administrator Account. The problems seem to be just getting more and more complicated as they continue to use XTrap as an anti-hacking software. -

I agree. XTrap isn't very on-top of things when it comes to bugs, or general patching. Probaby because it's a cheap company to use for a free game's anti-hacking. Also, I believe on my old computer I only had one user account, but was still required to run specific programs as administrator for it to work...? -

Well when you first make the account you have to give it full admin abilities. Sometimes just the option in the properties of the program needs to be changed because some anti-virus programs will automatically disable the programs pre-set [run as admin] rule as a safety precaution to prevent it from connecting to the internet without your permission.
