Why 3 screens instead of a big one?

Hello,
Why gamers usualy use 3 pc screens instead of only using a large one like a 50" one?
never got it, but I guess it may be for a simple reason which makes my question dumb. ^^

Try playing a game at on a like.. 50 inch screen.... It will look horrible.

Plus I use a second monitor for things like xfire, mumble or something I need to see whilst im in a game on my first monitor. It saves alt tabbing.

Oh, yeah now I get it, but 3 screens running only one game doesn't look horrible either? since there is a space and limit between each screen? and are/should all the screens be the same size/brand so the image looks equal on every screen?

who plays the same game on 3 screens...?

not an fps, ive done it with racing games where you could configure side ones to act as mirrors...

edit: i lie, i once played on my friends, he had it set up to have map on one screen, list of players on the other, game in middle...

they use 3 screens usually when they're a programmer or some sort of Technical Computer Person. I never seen anyone use 3 screens for a game o.O

3 screens is great for anything other then FPS. Just to much screen to look at. Wanna keep your eyes centered anyways. In example(I use 4): I can run my bottom 3 displaying one game and steam etc on my top one. OR I can run a game on my main center one. Firefox on top screen music on left side steam temps etc on the right. All preference. But to comapre a 50" too multiple monitors there is no comparison. Monitors display it at a much better quality and resolution where as 50" tv can't.

The max resolution even on a larger monitor is 1920x so you arn't getting anymore out of it, icons text and w/e just get bigger. For mass multitasking more monitors is always better and far cheaper.

Well actually mitsubishi has a 56" that does 3840x2160. But who's going to pay 50k for a monitor?

But max resolution on 3 monitors is 5760x1080.

Blows 1920 out the water.

it makes accounting a lot easier, at least for me...flipping back and forth gets quite annoying.
