buying PC suggestions !!

kk currently i am using umm 7 years old amd sempron3400+ 512 mb, and i feel its time for change hehehe :P

So, wanna help me out please. My budget would be around 500-600 cdn $, and if people from cf community suggest me real good i would go for 700$ (that being max). I am not a nortorious gamer, i only play cf and on ocassions counter strike etc.

i need a computer where i can multitask like fast burning, surfing etc and for gaming fps around 150 or more with normal setting would be nice

Btw i will shop from most likely tigerdirect cuz i really dont know any other place and m not a huge fan of best buy and futureshop. Also i had never bought anything from newegg either, but it does not mean i would not go for if i find something good.

well i shall be waiting for the suggestions.

Cheers

  • First thing you'll probably be asked is if you can build it yourself or want a prebuilt one.
  • no i can`t build myself and i dont know anybody here who can do it. So a prebuilt one!

You do realize by limiting yourself to a prebuilt computer, youll be paying for namebrand, rather than your hardware. There are many good tutorials, even Forums in which people will guide you on the creation of your computer.
  • okay suggest me a decent combo, in the mean time ill surf forums n video tutorial on net. Honeslty i wasnt aware if building own computer is better than buying prebuilt. thnx!

Read the thread, 700 is his max.
600 is the pc than he could use his old hdd or torrent the OS will save $200.
If his old hdd is not working good he could get a new one and build it in and torrent the os he will still save $100 and pay than 700 in total.

And also AMD proccesors are perfectly fine.
Especially for people that are on a tight budget.
You pay for what you get. a good decent working processor.

Ya ya ya intel series are better but you pay to much.
So getting a AMD processor you may get less performance but the money you safe is more than worth it!
and you will have no problems playing the latest games.

    Haterz gone hate!

i3 2120 out performs AMD's quad/hex cores which is less than those AMD processors, so no you're wrong..

My 965 BE clocked at 4.0 on water. Does everything and more. :)
  • The AMD processors give more bang for the buck and definitely outperform the intel based on price only. However, their performance is marginally less and their drivers totally suck. But since you are only going to be playing Crossfire, and buying on a fixed budget, I'd say stick with the AMD Processors. Try running a Phenom or an Athlon X2. The graphics card has the main say in these computers, so try going for AT LEAST a 1GB dedicated video ram graphics card - they do wonders. The 1.5GB ones come bundled with i7's, so when buying, you won't find a good deal to go with the 1.5GB GPU. As for RAM, the bare minimum is 4GB. And that will also be as much as you need. But remember, RAM is dirt cheap so you can easily add more.

Remember, the GPU is the most important!

Other than that, good luck bro!
