Go to your CrossFire File and open up the Logs folder, open up anything that is in there and copy and paste it here please. -
If you jut downloaded it you shouldn't need a patch... The patch screen shows up to me for a second before beginning to load the tools, it should come up after a few seconds or so depending on how fast your computer's speed is... There should be a load bar and an Xtrap screen in the bottom right corner loading...
Also, make sure to give it a few minutes to load, the first time I downloaded it took a couple minutes to begin loading as it had just been downloaded...
If this continues please contact an admin through support tickets... They'll have better understanding than the players as it is their game after all... -

Try starting it up again and if it closes again press ctrl+alt+delete go to task manager and look through the processes and look to see if there is a process for Xtrap or Crossfire actually running. That might help someone find out whats wrong. If there is a process there then something is attempting to load but if not I havent the foggiest clue lol. -
He has to login in for there to a be a log
Nope, he doesn't. I know what his error is, [Failed to recreate Version.ini File].
Do you have Minecraft, WoW, Iobit, or any and I mean ANY mods for ANY game on you computer?
If you restart your computer and upon start-up you select [Safe Mode With Networking] run CF and you will get the Log file no doubt. -

You are joking right????? All they ever do is reply with a url link to the Tech Support Forums page.... in otherwords they just send them straight back to me 24 hours later. -
Sounds like something is interfering with xtrap! If you have any anti-virus programs on, turn them off. For the best performance, I'd recommend uninstalling them, but this may be a safety hazard towards your computer, so it's up to you.
If your Windows Security is ON, please turn it off, as it seems to interfere with everything.
How to turn off Windows Security
Start > Control Panel > System And Security > Windows Firewall
On the left hand bar, click "Turn Windows Firewall on or off"
Select both buttons which are labelled "Turn off Windows Firewall (not recommended)"
