Good ol Xtrap
What causes the following error code?
02-0300-00000000-211
Device database of the operating system is not normal or the device name doesn't exist. Please restart system.
I did the whole restart nothing and that did nothing. Disabled everything on the computer firewall, AV, any IObit software and still a no go. Deleted the xtrap folder and that did nothing as well.

This error can occur due to the presence of virtual devices installed on the system, like:
-Daemon Tools
-Virtual Clone Drive
Solution: Disable or turn off any CD/DVD burning software / virtual drives / and emulator software.
If that doesn't work:
Have you changed your compatibility mode for CF through the Properties for the application? -
Yeah, I have it running in compatibility mode for XP SP2. I'm pretty sure I don't have any virtual drives or emulators running. I do have CD/DVD burning software but none is running. I ran into the problem before and simply disabled AVAST for 10 minutes and it ran fine but that does not want to work this time.

Have you tried disabling AVAST completely?
Regardless of whether or not it is running it will still affect the game. It must be either 100% completely disabled or uninstalled. -

Lolz. Before you do that try to see if you have installed anything on your computer since the last time it worked. This includes changing internet providers, modems, routers, ect.
Any mods for any games will affect the game as well. ie. minecraft mods, World of Warcraft mods, ect. If you have iobit, uninstall that.
By the way..... If you do throw your computer out the window.... Record it please and go buy a new computer and upload it for us all to see. ;D I'm kidding of course. Lolz. -
Make sure to clean out your recycle bin as well of anything you deleted, even if you sent a mod or anything to the recycle bin it will still be picked up by the game.
Please restart you computer and start-up in [Safe Mode With Networking] and start up CF there and tell me what happens. -
Have you tried using a restore point? You said Crossfire used to work well, but now it's not working because of this error. It's possible that you've messed around with something without even knowing it, and thus causing this rebellious error.
To access Windows restore points, go to Start > Search > "System Restore"
If you have no restore points, then this may be a problem. Restore points are created when you do Windows updates, or manually create one. Please note that if you're doing a restore point to say a week ago, you will lose anything you've downloaded/saved from a week ago until now.
If this doesn't work, let me know, and I'll see if I can find anything else. -
RanD0mHeRo wrote: »I'll give the restore point a try. I updated to Vista SP2 and since then the computer has been terrible.
The upgrading will mess with a lot of stuff. There are a few threads about this I believe. I am still neck high in people so I will try my best to find some troubleshooting information if Restore Point does not work. -

Virus Programs, Spyware Programs?
..... really..... please read the first page and avoid repeat posts..... -
