Which download are you using?

If you are using a mirror download try using a alternative download such as BrotherSoft (the one I usually use) - http://www.brothersoft.com/games/cross-fire-download.html#ref=0908

If you aren't using a mirrow, make sure you are using the right Mirror such as East Coast, and West Coast.

Might be a patch bug. Run it as administrator and/or try running it in compatibility mode.
