AK-47 or M4A1?

The m4 is well rounded and easier to control than the Ak47.
But if both are mastered, I think the ak has more of a potential. With it's high damage rate and accuracy (first few bursts)
You should read up on malte's Ak guide (dude from vVv Lifeline)

Personally I would buy the ak but if you're just starting out get the m4
Test them out in the shooting range or in elimination maps which let's you pick of weapons of varying choices. -
But what I mean I don't know how to properly shoot it, at med-long range bursting doesn't seem to work, are you supposed to single shot?
At medium range, I'd say burst shot or spray with an AK.
At long range, I recommend spacing your shots out so that recoil doesn't affect you much until after about 4 or 5 shots.
I suggest you test both of these weapons out in Alaska or another EM map that has them both. -
Which should I get? I'm think I'm going with AK but I'm not sure how to even use it because of its **** recoil.
M4 ftw, less recoil but One hit HS for all ranges pretty much the same as AK cuz they are both gonna be 3 shot kills anyway -
The AK doesn't have "****" recoil! Its recoil can be a bit of a struggle to get sued to, but once you learn how to control it, the AK becomes a great weapon to use.
I agree with this statement something crazy.
In tight situations, AK reigns supreme!
In distanced situations, if you can keep your bursts controlled and on-target you can deal some serious damage to enemies (but it's not better then the M4A1 in that regard...) -

AK's recoil is big in that it deviates from the center of the crosshair by quite a bit, but that recoil is very consistent and easy to control.
More dramatic recoil, but easier to control then the m4. I still vote for the m4 though, if you're only going to get one or the other.
*edit:I ended up getting AK, I love it I'm getting tons of kills.
nvm... you got the AK. -
AK is a great weapon for fighting against rocket launchers (like m12s) in medium/short ranges, the recoil is hard to handle as a rookie, but it is marvelous once you get used to it.
Long ranges tap clicks at ease and you'll be able to make snipers call you "names", once you can master tap for long ranges and spray for medium-short, you're going to give em hell (I mean it!).
M4 is great at long ranges mainly, the tap is easier to handle since the recoil is low. I'm not saying its terrible at medium/short, in fact, its great because the RoF is good at sprayer (not as powerful as the AK though).
