the reason you see so many is because they are more reliable and longer lasting.
also better resale value.

Let's put out some facts
Foreign vehicles are simply better in almost every aspect in compare with american cars.
Many foreign vehicles are made in the U.S., in fact at one point they had more americans hired than american companies. (automotive sector)
Go look at the vin of newer toyotas, anything starting with 2 was most likely made in the U.S. or Canada, unlike american car companies, also a lot of car factories are in Mexico, my father is an engineer and he constantly has to go there to train the mexican engineers. -

GM and FORD are nowhere near Toyota, they can try all they want, there is a reason toyota is 80 dollars, ford around 12? and GM 23 dollars, there quality still lacks, their fuel economy is average, their resell value still blows, reliability is just as bad as it was 10 years ago.
did you see what happened when GM tried to make an electric car? the engine catches on fire! great, nothing has changed.
