In my opinion the sounds of the Tar and the Scar Light are more annoying than the M4's, specially in GM, so I'd go for the M4A1.
As for S&D, the Tar's zooming in ability may be helpful for long range shots but bear in mind that after a certain distance it's not a 1 shot kill to the head.

M4 kinda standard rifle in Crossfire and probably most used one. Really good rifle, good reload and fire rate with moderate dmg. This gun it's self or its variants are used all over the place so there's your answer.

Scar Light, think of it as M4 with faster reload rate, bit better accuracy and lighter (dunno about its fire power). Gun IS overpowered and if you don't mind being called a nub go for it, but just to warn you, people will ***** and flame you hard (especially in GM). When I first started CF 3 years ago it was first real weapon I got (from crates temporarily) and I owned a lot, its really so good any idiot can use it hence why its called a nub gun, after that 7 days expired I never had it in my inventory again and I got myself AK47 camo.

As for Tar, don't have it but I did use it, isn't a bad rifle and has really fast fire rate but if I was going for scoped weapons I'd get either Sig552 or Aug-Camo.
