How would that be much different than the normal shotguns?

Same rate of fire, a lot heavier, same damage, but slighly bigger magazine...

If you are referring to slugs, that might be an interesting option... but the range increase wouldn't be very much. You'd be better off with a rifle.

I only use my shotgun during ghost mode, that's all it's good for. You need to be on top of the other person to get the kill regardless of the map.

Yeah i agree, i have both shotguns and i prefer XM over Spas due to the higher amount of bullets fired per shot which is good for close up, but i only use shotgun for ghost mode, its no good for any other mode, but in my opinion one of the best guns for ghost mode.
