Ivy leagues don't matter to Canadians.
The beauty of Canada is that going to an ivy league university doesn't mean jack____.
The goal here isn't Yale or Harvard. It's not a matter of where you go (for a relatively smart person meaning above a 93% average), but how much will be covered by the university.
...
So you can use underscores but I can't use asterisks? Not fair. -

Asterisks are censored. This one is insinuating something, but it's actually my mistake, I've had a little intoxication in my life as of very recent tonight.
My mistake. -

My mistake.
Don't drink and mod. Hence why I'm taking the night off to party in Austin.

i'm talking about a university, high school is great and all but unless your high school is an ib program, being top of your class doesn't mean much to ivy leagues.
my old school was an ib program, thats if youre referring to international baccalaureate -

Also, scholarship.
I would recommend strongly considering private schools. They tend to give money away to poor people.
Yes FAFSA is good, I just applied for mine.
Scholarships can be hard to obtain. MOST people don't get them. Especially FULL scholarships. -
So is it the fact that you are able to juggle all these things and keep a organized schedule?
I'll be applying to uni's next year (Canada as well), except I won't be playing any more games at all
. just can't handle all that time when i could be doing more extra curricular things,,my opinion tho.
Yes, the key is balance. I don't overly-play the game, but I don't detach myself so much. I like to be involved, but not overly-involved.
I play, but I don't excessively play. -
Why are people talking about Canadian schools? The only thing you need for that system is grades.
Secondly, Hi you are frankly one of the more ( I don't even know what word to use without sounding offensive) blank people on these forums.
Canada's best school McGill get's 30,000 applicants while the other competing schools get around 70,000. And then McGill accepts around half of the people that apply while most of the higher end US ones only accept like 5000 at most.
And why was this mentioned? It has no relevance whatsoever.
How this justifies you playing games is beyond me. The point of the thread was to say that you could be doing something way more meaningful or helpful. Like today, I finished a wall of a shed to shade my pool gear which I could have payed 300 dollars for construction people to do, but instead I saved money and exercised (which lets be honest here, quite a few people need around these parts). -
Say the dictator of the CF fanboy nation, lmfao. Get your ego fixed bro!tastylime_2g wrote: »And is this supposed to be impressive? Good grades in school will not change the fact you're a spineless light weight with no meaningful future ahead of you. -
Why would anyone be hurt by anything he says?Way to put people down tasty.
That's all you seem to do.
I think his posts are funny to read but his entire life is a fabricated story and every aspect of his e-personality is nothing more than a mirage. Aside from calling people unaesthtic downy nerd v1rgins theres not alot he can do to "put" anyone down. -

guess what, i know i am being captain obvious here, but the world is a global market now, people are aware of which schools are good all over, i don't mean to be rude but canadian schools do not simply meet up to standards to other universities, if you go to some of the top business schools in the united states, you will most likely be recognized for it globally, including schools in europe etc. There is a reason why a lot of foreign exchange students come to these schools. if you want to make close to 130K a year starting pay, you have to go to the business schools Forbes list to even be considered.
~you can put all your eggs in one basket and hope to get a job in canada, you don't know where life takes you, people end up all over the world sometimes. it's best to plan for ahead and go to a school that will be best for any situation.
Also forgot, most of these schools are great for building connections which is crucial to landing a job. trust me, i can't remember the last time i got a job without using a connection, i am over qualified for a lot of jobs that i apply to, but i seem to never even get a phone call unless i know somebody there.hammer_bert wrote: »my old school was an ib program, thats if youre referring to international baccalaureate
Yeah, it's a more rigorous program than AP. -

I beg to differ....
Also, in all technicality, it is possible that you might become a mastermind game designer who goes world famous, and received his inspiration from games like Crossfire. :P
Also, most people that play games realize this, we just play games because, well, it's fun.
For example, how many hours have you spent jerking off or watching "barely legal" videos? (lol) Imagine how much you could have accomplished in that time. Or how many hours you have spent relaxing. Or for that matter, how many hours you have spent on these forums.
100K a year is a lot. An actuary is one of the highest level math profession in the market and you get paid around 150K. -

Maybe I should have used "try" somewhere in there.
While his posts can be entertaining sometimes, a lot of times he just posts the same thing over and over again. -
