My 2 cents
Stop playing this game and be someone.
Don't end up being the average Joe that makes 50k. Be that guy that makes 270 or 300k and has a first job of 110.
Only way you're gonna do that is getting off games. Delete them. All of them. All types, all fo them. Don't think about it. Just ****ING DELETE IT.
You realize that all those hours you spent on this crap will never come back? You could have done so much more meaningful things in the half the time that you been wasting time on this garbage.
Like I said. Do it. Best solution ever.
Edit: Since people have the brain power of a ****ing orangutan let me put it here: If you're going to address my post count, then you are completely justified. Hence the whole point of this thread. I can't believe I wasted this much time on here.

An average Joe makes $100,000?
I beg to differ....
Also, in all technicality, it is possible that you might become a mastermind game designer who goes world famous, and received his inspiration from games like Crossfire. :P
Also, most people that play games realize this, we just play games because, well, it's fun.
For example, how many hours have you spent jerking off or watching "barely legal" videos? (lol) Imagine how much you could have accomplished in that time. Or how many hours you have spent relaxing. Or for that matter, how many hours you have spent on these forums. -

What do you say about that?
You've been on these forums long enough to acquire that many posts.
How many hours was that?
Plus, you mainly post in Off-Topic anyway, so that's a lot of posts not taken into account. -

Are you satisfied with 100k? Because I'm not.
And that doesn't mean bloody crap. It still takes work to get there, and playing the game isn't going to accomplish any of that.
Yeah, people do PERL and make airplanes for fun too, and it actually helps you get a job that pays 150k.
How many hours I have spent doing that?
First off, I don't wack off. Don't need to. I find relaxing in reading books about my passion. I'm on chapter 6 of Theory Of Flight.
and forums? Most of the time I have this open right next to an essay or I do math right next to my comp. My situation is much mroe different than any of yours. -

Exactly! Most of this garbage was when I was playing this game, and I can say that my life style, my health, my mental health and intellectuall capacity has improved or grown since I have ended.
Stay away from instant gratification garbage. It's a curse and it's a hard habit to get rid of.
I literally got rid of my Admin privledges on this comp and gave it to my brother so I wouldn't be able to redownload the games I want to play. AND I WANT TO PLAY.
No doubt about it. but I know deep down that it's for the better. -

How about I use this MOD position to work my way into the gaming industry?
Thumbs up yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
^JOKE^
OT: I do hope to have a graduate degree in history before I try anything on the job market, maybe do the odd one here and there for financial support if needed. -
If depriving yourself of things you like to do and care about are less important than getting that type of job then by all means go for it.
I for one would entirely object to living a lifestyle where I can't do something I enjoy just for money which, while useful now, after you die is pointless for yourself.
It isn't a matter of ambition, it's a matter of looking at the world seriously, what do you want to do, what do you want to accomplish? Furthermore why do you want that to be your purpose?
As for myself, if I lived a life where I could have fun daily, while doing work that I could put up, and with a paycheck that could sustain my existence, life would be grand. While that is idealistic, it certainly is better than casting aside what you enjoy just for money. -

Do you know the meaning of delayed gratification? Of course you don't because you're a ****ing moronic baboon. Money is close to everything in this world. It controls your games, your TV, your everyday lifestyle. What Jafrikan is trying to get at is that one as a teen should put down the games and do something useful with their time like getting a ****ing JOB. Get a job, learn about economics, become a successful Investor/Innovator/Inventer, become a multi-millionare, THEN you can have all the time in the world to play your useless distracting games. Now for people that are in their 30's or 40's that still play games, you guys are just sad. -

You know, I really think you lost my whole message.
Everyone has ambitions. EVERYONE. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU.
but that doesn't mean you have found the passion for it. And how are you supposed to find that passion if all you do is play games on your free time?
And you can have fun, FUN in your PASSION. But the only way you are going to find it is by going out there and doing things. Not narrowing your vision and mindset by playing this with all due offense awful game. -
Firstly, if you're trying to do the 'inspirational talk' rubbish, people like the route of least resistance. meaning, if they can do minimal work to get 50K a year as their max salary, that's what they'll do. they'll enjoy life, make friends etc and 'be content'.
personally, the fact you imply someone would want to work for someone else is laughable. perhaps it's just how some people think, but working for someone would be horrific. Why earn 400K a year, when you could earn billions by being innovative?
children these days ... ;p. -
What does meaningful mean to you? Because to me it is just an empty expression. Everything is meaningless when you died. So everyone should achieve what he likes the most.RawrJafrikan wrote: »You could have done so much more meaningful things in the half the time that you been wasting time on this garbage.
Why should someone waste time doing extra hours although he doesn't really need the money? I would be satisfied when I earned 50k in your currency because I wouldn't know what to do with it. Do I need a car? No, although I got a drivers license. Do I need a house? I don't think so.
So why should it please me to earn money? And what makes me wonder: Why do you think your post would change anyone?
Edit:
There is one thing that I would recommend just like you. Stop playing this ... -
there are different kinds of happyness.
you dont need love to be happy.
That is irrelevant, I’m aware of that as you can see my original post. As I explained, IF people need love to be happy; hence why money is not equal to happiness. You are disregarding those people which is a terrible assumption that can result in a catastrophic consequence in any case with that logic.
