help with m4a1

Don't know the exact reason but pros use the basic/default weapons over the reskins. Do not want to post my idea about it let it be wrong and having a billion competitive players trolling me O.o

Many competitive leagues and tournaments (such as World Cyber Games-WCG and ESL/ESG leagues) will only allow basic weapons like reg M4/AK/AWM. So that everyone is on the same level. They practice with them so that get used to not having a huge advantage, so their skill become better because they have to make their shots count.

The reason why so many 'advanced' players use the regular M4 is because the other versions aren't allowed in esl. So it looks more professional, another thing is , have you ever played in echo 8, xfamousx plays there sometimes as well. In that server it's about going back to the basics, everyone should have the same chances of winning. So they trow away all the ZP , and crate stuff.

It could be that this explanation was completely wrong.. but here's another thing: It's just a matter of taste, In my 1st bag I have the M4 reg and De reg , in the 2nd one there is the M4 gold and DE gold.. I find myself getting better scores with my first bag, , it's just that some people prefer the regular M4.

It isn't because it's more 'professional'. It's because it's the better gun. The scope is useless and the reg is by far more stable.

Spray a few shots with M4-C, it keeps going up above the head.
Do that with the reg it goes up less=more kills

M4A1 regular (gold too) just is the best for long range, and I like it's spray more.
I only use silenced m4's for GM.

OT: The reason why they use non-reskins is because they wanted to prove that they can do well with any gun, even with the most basic ones, and also to practice with WGC weapons.

Its a matter of not spoping up the place.

Wrong. M4-Custom has MUCH less recoil than the regular M4A1 while standing. The reason why the more "advanced" players use M4A1 reg is because as many have already said: Leagues will not allow ZP/BP guns.

Playing with and getting used to ZP/BP guns, which have better stats and advantages will weaken your overall gameplay. Example: Relying on M4A1-Custom or Scar Light WILL give you an easier time playing due to the increased accuracy and reduced recoil. (Also for most ZP guns, an extended magazine), but you will grow a dependence on that increased accuracy, weakening your ability to kill with the reg weapons. Playing with regular versions of the gun will allow you to get used to the gun in its most pure form in which you will find no boosted stats.

Guns with extended magazine also have a delayed spray pattern which could give you an advantage. (say that you spray 3 shots, the 3 shots will be farther apart from each other than say if you spray 3 shots with the same gun with an extended magazine because it needs to make the same pattern of the original but with more bullets.)

Mostly the increased accuracy and the reduced recoil makes ZP guns like the M4 Custom attractive to newer players of players of a lower skill level. There may also be a factor in looks or the silencer but most experienced players won't be fooled by a silencer anyways.

What I do to practice is play a TON of Team Deathmatch to practice headshotting. Ship is a good map because it is level and everyone's pretty much on the floor with no slopes or anything. Practice 1 tapping, bursting, spraying (CONTROLLING the spray). Once you reach a decent level of proficiency you can apply that in other modes.
