To all those Complaining because they aren't getting a Gold Katana
Unfortunately you did not win the chance to fight for a Gold Katana. Crying about it is not going to do anyone any favors.
Declaring yourself a Pro Ghost Mode player and then thinking you deserve to be in the finals for that reason is not going to do anyone any favors.
However if since all of you seem to not care about the Gold Katana, I propose this.
If all the clans in the top 10 for this March of the Ghosts want to get together and do their own bracket tournament then you guys can face off against each other and decide who the best GM Clan is.
Problem solved.
Since the prize doesn't matter, we'll fully admit that we made mistakes with this tournament and we've learned a heck of a lot from it. We expect the next one will be better.
However the records of the clans will not be adjusted. As I've said to a few of the leaders already, it was very apparent from the get-go that a 30-0 (or comparable record) was going to be the deciding factor within this tournament. Playing 150 matches, WINNING 150 matches was never going to be necessary for the structure of the tournament.
It was said from the onset that there was not going to be brackets for this. It was also said that there basically was no similarities between the first one and this one save the name. Congrats to Panthers for showing up and playing, and it's amazing to see them dominate so many clans. However in the format for this tournament under the conditions we set out they did not make it to the final 2.
No one is crowning OldLegends Or Kill Support as being some sort of Pro Team who are the best at Ghost Mode.
In fact, during the first bracket tournament we held, ages ago, we had a lot of people complain that Panthers were a nobody team and didn't deserve to be at the top.
What this boils down to is that there was only going to be one clan who wins the prize. And every other clan wants that prize, and they will cry about it until we bend and change the rules. Then OldLegends or Kill Support will be unfairly treated, but clans like Panthers will just say "They aren't pro so they don't deserve to be in the final anyways".
The exploit for this type of structure was to play 30 games and win them all. That's it. From there tie-breaks were determined by match points and clan points which could have been exploited by farming the necessary time (easier for larger clans).
This is all stuff we have learned and will be looking to improve upon on the next one.
My example yesterday was wrong, and harsh out of frustration and I apologize for that. However the point was, anyone in this scope of a tournament can imply they are pro and feel they are deserving of a win. Be it a family member, a parent, your dog, your best friend, etc.
Now it's time to put everyone's Ego's aside. Declaring yourself a Pro Clan for a public tournament which technically could have involved every clan in the game does not make you deserving of ignoring everyone else and moving up.
Did some clans lose matches to hackers? Yes, were those matches necessary to play? Probably not. Can we do anything about it now that the records and finalists have been announced? No. Will we learn from all this and improve for another tournament? Yes.
This thread can and will remain open as long as the sarcasm and blatant trolling is left at the door.

This tournament wasn't made to find the best, it was made to increase the popularity of Ghost Mode to more players.
OldLegends Read every rule and condition to the tournament, came up with a strategy based on that info, and protected and followed that strategy to the end. We are a finalist because we played smart and cautiously.
There are clans that can beat us in a match, it is not our fault those clans didn't make it as a finalist. Everyone had access to the same resources and info as us, just because we used them to their fullest is no reason to be raging.
In the end this tournament was decided by who understood it the best, not by who was or has the most skill. -

Wait, did he say we get to choose that it might not be a bracket tourney? Because everyone else in the top 10 clans (the 98 lower ones) will and the vote would be unfair.
EDIT: Never mind. Just reread his thread and saw that all 10 clans would have to agree. -
Why give out such a juicy unique reward if you omitted to tell us one golden fact: losses against hacker clans will not be removed.
It was shady from the start, and by you saying that you would review the records, it gave us the impression you would take care of unfair losses.
Think about it one second, if you'd have been straight forward from the start, people would have been very concerned about getting into a CW against a clan they didn't know. Add to that the fact that some moderators told us that indeed the losses wouldn't count, then we have a situation here.
Why act so offended than most of us are pretty vocal about it? Does that really surprise you, Saidin? -
I just don't like that Kill Support is in second place.. even if they hacked during MoTG II
EDIT:
If you guys decide to do this again, you should use this method:
1 win = 2 points
1 draw = 1 point
1 lose = 0 points
So at the end, the ones with the most points would go in finals. -

everyone would.
but you know what, it doesn't matter anymore...
so good luck. -
I find the ghost mode players expectations comical, I mean the SnD tournaments were a joke.
I mean what other tournament would be like ITS OK GUYS BOTH TEAMS CHEATED SO IT WAS FAIR. Not to mention having zero ACS (sure you could argue the Sorry vs Trio match had growlers but guess what no one ever checked them) and in the Throne vs Emotion match evil was missing his growler for one half and nicholas was missing his growler on the other.
The point isn't to declare who is the best, if everyone really wanted to win it would just be a competition of the best cheater. Its simply for fun, ****s and giggles. -

Hmm, I like this idea. O.o -

Problem with that is it is decided by who plays the most games and big clans can play more games then small ones.
Even OL only played 31 GM CWs in march we played over 300 SND games as well.
Knowing that win percent doesn't matter and a loss means nothing we would simply of just played GM instead of SND. Were a small clan that is active, imagine a big one that is active. -

That's why this is so funny to me. It's as if no one remembers the good ole days. -

Too easy for big clans to win. You would have to cap off how many games you can play. If you don't, a maxed out clan will just constantly play and get tons of points even if they only win 2 out of 10 games.

Or instead of using the ******ed rating systems you people keep creating, just use an ELO system. -

Good point. Yet I think we could pull it off if we had to. -

Then put a cap on how many CWs would count per day, let's say the first 10 CWs everyday.
Or something like that. -

That would mean that potentially a clan with a win loss of 100/1209019821
could actually win the tournament. -

Like the current clan war system that is in place? (with match points)
people are posting too fast to see your post.ELO system?
