Constructive criticism about upcoming tourneys.
Really, I bet most people think that the March of the Ghosts II tournament is a joke. The grading system is stupid what so ever. In order to have a fair tournament, I have a set of rules that may help in choosing the BEST clan, as in most skilled, and not most-skilled-in-tackful-choosing-of-oppenents clan.
Here is my system. Please comment and add to it. Trollers gdfu
1. REMOVE THE STUPID HAK CLAN LOSES. I bet many truly pro-clans had their % lowered by stupid brs. This is not fair, and if you can't ban all the ha.kers, then remove the stupid record.
2. CHANGE THE STUPID GRADING SYSTEM. (sorry i dont mean to rage, but the system IS stupid.) KK FIRST: change winning% to clan 'ratings.'
So what kind of ratings?
First: A win in CW increases rating by 5, a lose decreases by 1, and a tie results in no change.
Second: The winning ratio is turned into ratings also. (100% winning ratio=100 ratings added)
Why does this works? This can eliminate clans that dodge other clans just so they can keep their 100% winning ratio. Say OldLegends has 31-0. That is BS because they probably dodged Panthers or Kill Support, or other clans that do have a good chance against them. 31-0 against noobs is nothing. The whole point of the tournament is to decide on the MOST SKILLED TEAM.
Example of why this works: OldLegends has 31-0, which gives a rating of 155(31*5)+100(100%)=255. However, truly pro clans like Panthers should have 147*5+95, which gives a way higher rating because they dont dodge clans, or just do the minimum requirements. This ensures a fair result. Also, if a clan met a haker clan and lose, it wont affect them dramatically, like it did in MoG II
3. Provide a chance of redemption. The winner of the next tournament can challenge the winner of this tournament for their golden katanas. Since the "winner" of this tourney is the "best," I'm sure they won't be afraid to accept a challenge.

Your system puts favor in clans that are able to play lots of games.
So only BIG clans could win because they have the shear numbers to out pace others in number of matches.. The win percent one at least made it so small clans could compete against as well.
And then everyone would be crying about the 100 member clan that simply plays 200 games a day. -
Just an extra piece of info
OldLegends has a CW win/loss of 67.5%
Kill Support has 75.2%
Acivila has 71.5%
Perfect has 79.6%
Contagion has 76.9%
Panthers has 88.8%
eVent has 89.3%
Stalkers has 76.3%
Bane has 83.7%
CnGhosts has 83.3%
Not suprisingly, the clan with the lowest winning percentage ranks first..... -_- -

You do realise that if a lose results in -1 point? so people can play lots of games, but if they lose, their winning ratings will be reduced by A LOT right? -

O yeah the # like +5, -1 0 can change. It can be one win +4, and 1 lose -2. noob clans that play lots of games really dont make a defference cuz the loses decrease their ratings -

Lets assume a win rate of 60%.
100 players divided into groups of 4 makes 25 groups, have each group play 10 matches a day. That 250 matches.
250*0.6= 150 wins.
250*0.4= 100 losses.
150*5=750. Points earned
100*1=100. Points lost.
750-100=650. Total net Points.
So they would get 650 points a day with this system. -

Lol, OldLegends has played 1600 CW's compared to 550 of Stalkers. Does this contridict your post about more wins = more points?
Oh and loses related to hackers were removed and farmers were disqualified. -

This^^. And it would basically give it to the clans that play the most, like some of the runners-up for the MoTG tourney. -

Indeed sir. There are certainly good ideas by both sides. Percentage appeals to lower member clans, while games having weight appeals to massive clans. Either way I think the best way to approach a tournament is obvious but hard to do. Have a regular style tournament play that any professional sport team does. Have 10 clans in a group, however many groups, tell the clans who the must play, give them a week or so to play everyone in their group. Best team moves on. Bracketed tourney doesn't necessarily have to take place right away. This is the only way to guarantee that the clans that play the best consistently will move on. This MOG wasn't necessarily supposed to decide who is the best clan, but who can accomplish a goal the best. For best win percentage the most logical way to approach is was taken by OL. -

So you're proposing a regular tournament until there are enough 'finalists' to compete in a bracket? -

A bracket system is easily the most fair option.
Z8 didn't do it tho because they don't have the man power for it. -

There are only 3 GMs I'm aware of but 10s of thousands of Clans.
They would have to figure out and list whose fighting who, find common play times for both clans, have a way to detect cheating reliably and quickly, give out the information of whose fighting who and who advanced at every stage, and confirm there was battles between the assigned clans. Then this Repeats in till there is only 1-3 clans left.
It would take forever. -

Wait, you didn't play during the Golden Guns Tournament, VATAV? -
After all is said and done, apparently people didn't realize that highest win "percentage" didn't mean highest "number" of wins. It was never a tournament to decide the best GM clan nor the most skilled.
It was a tournament to decide who understands English and who doesn't. This is proof that too many "five-year-olds" (at least mentally) play CF. They are worse than h.a.c.k.e.r.s. in my opinion. Can't stand the whining -

... why would anyone hold a GM tournament on who understands english? -
AcekillerMvp wrote: »Lets face it... the present system is not fair. Im pretty sure that Panthers would be able to beat OldLegends.........
Explain how it wasn't fair.
The final 2 clans are based on win percentage, ties are handled by clan points earned during the tournament, if still a tie then total matches comes in. There needs to be at least 30 games and only games with at least 4 players on 1 side count.
Farming wins will have a clan disqualified.
Cheating/hacking will have a clan disqualified.
I fail to see where unfairness pops in under this system.
Care to explain? -
You're so biased, that's disgusting.
LOL. It's not being biased. It all came down to who understood the rules. It was never about numbers. Of course he is gonna defend his clan winning. People it was never a question of BEST GM CLAN. I honestly think this MOTG tournament was a tournament testing comprehension of the English language. Had nothing to with GM...AT ALL -

everything was alright but they didnt do anything about the clans dat lost cuz of hackers... and thats what started the GM Riot
-
Then explain where the unfairness is rather then insult.
Let's just say you're simply lucky to have avoided hacking clans, and without client errors and joining a new game at the half by mistake (hate that bug).
Else, you'd probably want to protest like the rest of us.
That's why you're biased, you and your ... clan ... made it to the finals, good for you.
I really don't care what OldLegends have to say, tbh. -

I'm bias because you say we got lucky?
It wasn't luck that we didn't face hackers. It was us being EXTREMELY careful and paranoid about who we face. What matters most was win percent so we focused on protecting it. We screened every clan we faced, looked through their clan history and their player accounts. If we even got a hint that the might not be legit or good enough to be risky we didn't face them.
To avoid bugs we avoided actions that may lead to them, we also hosted all our games so not to join on at half time.
We were careful and we played smart. It was not luck that got us to the finals. So you got the balls to fight the other 9 clan's in gm ? and for every clan you lose to you drop your 1st place to 2nd 3nd and all the way to 10th ? and give up your spot? I doubt you got the balls to.
Honor before Reason, that is your logic?
Why risk losing if we don't have too? Why throw caution to the wind because of what others think? We played this tournament logically and made it to the top, others could of done the same. Why didn't they? OL put its priorities strait and stuck to them, it is not our fault others couldn't do the same. -

Yep I think that it is simpler than It seems for manpower. Choose clans to be in groups, which can be random, groups could be as big as 30ish wouldn't matter. The top of each group move on to bracket. In NCAA you must when your conference then you can advance to tourney where every team has chance to win it all. That is the point is it not? Find out who can stand the pressure of a tournament style play after a group stage proving they consistently outmatch their opponents. Really the mods wouldnt even have to do that much besides make a bracket and groups that instantly plug into it after they clan war with each other first. It would be up to the clan leaders to make sure they play the right clans in their group. -
Nah, he's just saying that because he's mad.
You're a disgrace to GM.
Talon's tourney is the real deal, OldLegends will probably dodge it, or fail miserably.
I'm not mad, I am OUTRAGED to see respected and legitimate top GM clans getting ignored by Z8 just because someone hasn't been doing his job properly.
Z8 wants to get rid of hacking, yet they let hacking ruin MOTG2. I don't understand your gloating, if this tourney had been fair to everyone, OldLegends wouldn't probably be in the top 10.
But keep on bragging, your clan is the laughing stock of GM anyway. -

Losses due to hackers were new removed in our clan... We had 1 legit loss. -
You cant really blame oldlegends for this even if their gm clan is trash. Saidin and his fellow gms are the ones who allowed hack losses to count i say you guys go complain to him. I agree 100% that this was unfair even though i didn't participate in this event.
